Using internet resources (make sure to write down resources [website])
1. price comparison / shopping list (items & prices written in Japanese)
select things you want to buy in Japan and find out how much they cost.
Compare the price in America. Make a shopping list with the photos of items.
2. song lyrics (Japanese song written in Japanese)
like the homework given in first quarter (‘Ra ttan tan’ song), select Japanese song(s)
you like and write down the lyrics
3. current event (report in English)
report news from Japan. Design the page like a newspaper (heading, sub heading,
article, photos, caption, etc.)
4. anything ranking (report in English)
find out about any kind of ranking in Japan
examples: most popular sports, car sales, popular Sushi items, what weekend
activities do they, and many more
5. Japanese history 101 (report in English)
choose a topic and make a mini history lesson
projects which do not require internet
1. family feud (game poster written in Japanese)
ask 20-30 friends of yours about their favorite things. Choose two questions such as
favorite color, favorite musician, favorite food, etc. Report the result: make a list of
top 5 answers. Write the questions & answers in Japanese
2. Jeopardy (game questions & answers written in Japanese)
make questions & answers for Jeopardy game. Choose categories. Topics can be
anything related to Japanese (sentences & phrases, vocabulary, or cultural
questions, etc.). Write the Q & A on each side of index card. (Cultural questions can
be in English)
3. my dictionary
Make a list of vocabulary, organize into A-I-U-E-O order for Japanese – English
dictionary (or alphabetical order if you make English –Japanese dictionary). Have
more than 100 words and make a booklet.
4. my recipe
write your favorite recipe in Japanese. It doesn’t have to be Japanese food. (you can
look up Japanese recipe and try to make it).
5. Karuta cards
make phrases or short sentences which start with each Hiragana. For example, “A” –
ashita, kaimono ni ikimasu / “I” – ichiban ookii / “U” – umi de asobu, etc.
Make cards for each sentence with its drawing. We will use this set for card game.
