2013 Miss Strassenfest Contestants
Rules and Responsibilities
1. Each contestant must be at least 17 years of age and can not have had her 21 st birthday as of August 4, 2013. A
contestant may be female, unmarried, without child, not pregnant, and living in the Greater Jasper School
District. The contestant must have no prior arrests or convictions.
2. Any contestant who has won the title Miss Strassenfest or 1st Runner-up Miss Strassenfest is ineligible to enter
again.
3. The contestants will have a three to five minute interview with a panel of three judges.

4. Miss Strassenfest will have an opportunity to compete in the Indiana State Festivals Association Scholarship
pageant held in November. Transportation, hotel and other costs associated with this pageant will be the
responsibility of the winner. The entry fee will be paid by the Strassenfest committee.
5. The contestant chosen as Miss Strassenfest, 1 st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up, Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality
must be available the entire Strassenfest weekend to attend events, hand gifts/awards, participate during
opening ceremonies and ride in the parade and as the committee assigns. Please consult the highlighted
booklet to see which events are important to attend. During the fest and appearances a dirndl (German dress
provided), tiara and sash are appropriate.
6. The contestant chosen as Miss Strassenfest, 1 st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up, Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality
must have an escort at all times during the entire festival and at any parades/functions they may attend the
entire reign. The escort must be a responsible adult. The Miss Strassenfest Coordinator will provide an escort if
needed.
7. You will be asked to appear on WITZ Radio Monday morning, July 29th with Jr. Miss, Little Miss and Mister.
8. Photos are typically scheduled for Tuesday, July 30th at Noon with BC Baggett at Picture Perfect. Please wear
your German attire, sash and tiara. You may want to bring your trophy and flowers as well. This photo will be
placed on the Strassenfest website and used in 2014 booklet.
9. On Thursday, August 1st, you’ll appear on the local TV station.
10. We would like to remind the Queen that she is representing the Strassenfest Committee and the community of
Jasper. If she is caught engaging in any illegal activities during her reigning year, she will pass down her crown
to the 1st Runner-up. The Queen may not smoke or consume alcoholic beverages at any time during the
Strassenfest or her appearances as Miss Strassenfest.
