(attached) Rita announced that AZENA has won the State Achievement Award again this year. She thanked all members for their help in achieving this award. The award will be given at Leadership Conference. Rita reviewed the State Activity Plan. Treasurer’s Report See written report. (attached). Motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept Treasurer’s report as presented. 2014 Final Budget presented to membership. 2013 Taxes-Lori reports finalizing QuickBooks by 2/15/14 so CPA can begin completing tax statement. Statement must be submitted by 5/15/14. Leadership Conference Tiffiny has volunteer sign-up list for conference. Opportunity for all to participate. Volunteers may attend courses for free, although you won’t get the CEs unless you paid for conference. Education See written report (attached). Seeking speakers for 2014 membership meetings. Please contact Vicki or Maureen if you or someone you know is interested. Government Affairs See written report (attached). AZ emergency report card has been published. Report available on www.emreportcard.org or Google emergency report card 2014. AzNA wants our opinion on it. Ginny reports she is still monitoring the ACA (Affordable Care Act) and any legislation related to it. Tiffiny to email sign-up list to Lori for distribution. Agenda Item Discussion IQSIP See written report (attached). Members brought up concern that it has been about 5 years since any grants were applied for and monies placed in ENCARE account for injury prevention projects. They ask that the IQSIP Chair be held accountable for this. Media See written report (attached). Newsletter print edition, mailed out 1/28/14. AZENA currently has 320 Facebook friends. Tomi informed members that Pediatric Preparedness Emergency Care is supporting CEN courses 2 times a year for 2.5 years for qualified hospitals. Check www.azaap.org to check if your hospital qualifies. The first course is being held in Tuba City on April 15th and 16th. Cost for this course for qualified hospital members is free and $50 for non-members. Membership Northern Arizona SIG See written report (attached). See written report (attached). Lisa seeking committee members to research practice issues. Suggestion to research electronic cigarettes and hospital policies for this item. Also, evapor vs. e-cigarette. Lisa also asking members if they think an online journal club meeting would be valuable. Nursing Research and Practice See written report (attached). Tomi recommends “shaking it up” a bit by hosting after hour events for members. She thinks this may help develop mentorship and build relationships with members. Pediatrics/ENPC See written report (attached). Southern Arizona See written report (attached). Action/Follow-up Executive board to address. Agenda Item Discussion Trauma/TNCC See written report (attached). Moved $10,000 from TNCC checking account into new savings account. Savings account is under the General account for banking reasons. Money was moved to prevent theft of large funds. Online registration starts in February for TNCC and ENPC through RegOnline. Instructors need to order their provider manuals. Webmaster Survey to members on what they want from their membership completed. 110 of the emails were opened and 77 of those were answered (60%). An analysis of the survey will be presented at the next membership meeting. AEMS First meeting of 2014 in 2 weeks. New guidelines for EMS for boarding and collaring of patients. Will reevaluate in 6 months. Spinal Motion Restriction (SMR) protocol PowerPoint is on AEMS website. Round table Looking for Injury Prevention Coordinator at MIHS.
