GENERAL SHOW RULES
1.
AQHA rules apply: It is entirely the responsibility of each competitor to complete entry details correctly, and
all owners and riders of registered Australian Quarter Horses must be financial members of the AQHA if
points are to be recorded.
2.
ENTRIES: Read carefully. All entries received or postmarked after closing date will incur a $25
late fee. This will include any nominations received but where monies are not paid prior to the
commencement of the show.
3.
PROGRAMME: The committee reserves the right to cancel or combine any event with insufficient entries.
The Judges decision is final. Events will be run under the rules of the AQHA, HSAA and the by-Laws of the
CQQHA Inc.
4.
For all Registered Quarter Horses & AQHA members - A copy of your AQHA current membership/Amateur
cards and Quarter horse registration papers will be required with nominations.
5.
LIABILITY: CQQHA Inc. will take no responsibility for any loss, damage or theft to any persons/horses,
vehicles or property while at these shows. All competitors compete at their own risk.
6.
Youth classes 18 years of age and under and must have parent/guardian signed consent.
7.
TEMP MEMBERSHIP: $15.00 per person per show is applicable to non members of AQHA or CQQHA or
Affiliate Club. If member of Affiliate club, proof of membership must be provided.
8.
WALK JOG CLASSES: Open to Beginner.
9.
BEGINNER: Is a Rider who has won no more than 3 wins with 5 or more horses. No improver classes or
Open Classes can be entered. Horses can be ridden in a snaffle bit or a curb bit (two handed).
10.
In case of EI virus outbreak the Central Qld Quarter Horse Assoc will not be responsible for any costs
incurred or monies lost by an outbreak of EI to a competitor, spectator or volunteer.
11.
Failure to abide by AQHA, CQQHA rules & DPI&F Bio Security & CQQHA Bio Security rules MAY
result in instant disqualification from all shows and forfeiture of any monies paid or owing to
the competitor.
12.
ALL DOGS TO BE ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES (regardless of size). ANY dog faeces MUST be picked up.
13.
Refund Policy
A. If the show is cancelled - full refund/credit will be given excluding admin fees
B. If the show is postponed you must advise the club within 7 days of receiving notice to
receive a full refund/credit excluding admin fees
14.
REFUNDS: Definitely no refunds after closing date unless accompanied by a current Medical or Vet
Certificate. Nomination refunds/credits excluding admin fees, will only be given when show secretary
receives appropriate certificates i.e. vet certificate or doctors certificate within 7 days of the event being
held.
15.
Any monies not collected at the end of each show for back numbers or stable refunds will be forfeited. No
refund cheques sent or credits carried over to future events.
16.
BACK NUMBERS: Back numbers will be allocated per horse and must be displayed when competing – NO
back number or INCORRECT back number no placing. CQQHA numbers are the only number to be used.
17.
BOXING CLASSES : GREEN AS GRASS CLASS – Horse to be riden in legal AQHA approved head
gear, can be ridden two hands, no tie downs our training gear as per AQHA rule book, saddle
good working order. RIDER: long sleeve shirt, boots, hat our safety helmet. (This class is for
people stating out in boxing)

18.
Beg horse boxing – Horse not to have competed in any cow horse events, can be ridden by a
person that has competed in a cow horse event, legal head gear as per AQHA rule book, saddle
good working order, RIDER: long sleeve shirt, boots, hat and our safety helmet.
COMPETITORS/PARTICIPANTS AT CQQHA EVENTS
GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT
No alcohol is allowed in, or can be consumed in the marshalling areas, working
arenas or show pen/contest areas.
Competitor’s/participants at any event run by Central Queensland Quarter Horse
Assoc have a responsibility to ensure the welfare of their horses and at all times to
treat their horses humanely and with dignity, respect and compassion.
Competitors/participants are to conduct themselves in a professional manner and
act with integrity in all dealings with the Affiliate and other competitors. To uphold
the rules and regulations of the Central Queensland Quarter Horse Assoc and the
AQHA at all times. Competitors/participants are to demonstrate good
sportsmanship at all times, showing respect for your fellow competitors and
officials, following the rules and to treat people the way you yourself wish to be
treated.
All youth competing or taking part in an AQHA approved event, must have written
permission from their parent/guardian to be at that event as a contestant or
participant and in the case of a contest, the parent/guardian must also sign the
entry form. All youth competing or taking part in an AQHA approved event, must
be in the care of a responsible adult who is in attendance for the duration of that
event, whilst the youth is in attendance at that event.
