Mountain Line service changes effective January 11
FLAGSTAFF, AZ (January 8, 2014) – The Northern Arizona Intergovernmental Public
Transportation Authority (NAIPTA) is adding weekend service on Routes 14 and 10a, as well as
making slight schedule changes on Routes 7 and 14 in order to better meet customer demand
and keep reliable, on-time performance.
Due to the popularity of the service, Route 14 will begin operating seven days a week on
Sunday, January 11. In addition, a slight schedule change will be implemented to make the
route more efficient. Route 10a, which is an offshoot of Route 10/Mountain Link serving the
Sawmill area in addition to the NAU Campus and Woodlands Village, will also add weekend
service when NAU is in session. This enhanced schedule means that between Routes 10 and
10a, there will be 15-minute weekend service on the NAU Campus and in Woodlands Village
during the school year.
Lastly, the schedule for Route 7 was overhauled to better reflect the timing needed to make
this cross-town route operate in a timely manner. Most timing points along the route were
slightly adjusted, so riders are advised to check the schedule to see how it impacts their
commute.
“We appreciate the comments we receive from our customers, and we are pleased to have
the type of transit system that can respond to feedback and make changes to better serve our
riders,” said NAIPTA Interim General Manager Erika Mazza.
