Chapter 903 Undergraduate Student Tickets and the Cardinal Chase 9.03.1 Undergraduate students are defined as a University of Louisville student who has not yet completed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma. 9.03.2 The Cardinal Chase is designed to reward passionate students who are committed to supporting the University of Louisville Athletics program. This process is designed to develop a strong student section that demonstrates the spirit and traditions of the University of Louisville. 9.03.3 Undergraduate Students will earn a predetermined number of points towards the Cardinal Chase by attending U of L sporting events selected at the discretion of the SGAAD and SGAAC. Attendance will be tracked at events by the SGAAC. *** Cap the groups? 9.03.4 Students will be able to sign up as a group consisting of any number or as an individual. To determine Cardinal Chase standings groups will be ranked according to the average number of points earned by the individuals in their group. Hence, the bigger the group, the more responsibility you will have to hold your peers accountable in attending the events. U of L SGA will track current standings that will be made available on the SGA website. 9.03.5 Undergraduate students will provide their name, preferred e-mail, U of L Student ID number, and class standing to the SGAAC. Each group will designate a team captain who is responsible for relaying all necessary information to the members of their group. 9.03.6 Undergraduate students will purchase their tickets in the Spring Semester prior to the basketball season by a set deadline or at a predetermined event at the discretion of the ULAA, SGAAD, and SGAAC. Details of this process are to be communicated to the student body by SGA. 9.03.7 If there are tickets remaining after the deadline or predetermined event, they will be made available to all students through the Athletic Ticket Office. 9.03.8 Incoming freshman students will have the opportunity to purchase student season tickets during their freshman orientation session. A specific allotment will be provided for each orientation session. If more freshmen sign up for tickets than allotted for the session they will be entered in a lottery to determine who gets priority. 9.03.9 Graduate students are eligible to enter the Undergraduate Cardinal Chase however they will forfeit the privileges afforded to graduate students who purchase tickets through their the GSC and will be held to the same rules and regulations as Undergraduate students Chapter 904 Rules, Restrictions, and Eligibility 9.04.1 Undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of 7 academic credit hours to be eligible to retain tickets. The semesters considered towards eligibility are the ones coinciding with basketball season i.e. Fall 2011 semester and Spring 2012 semester will be checked for the 2011 – 2012 Men’s Basketball season. 9.04.2 Priority seating will be based on the group rankings in the Cardinal Chase, the allotment provided to the GSC, and subsequently by a first come first serve basis. 9.04.3 Attendance at the Spring Football Game is mandatory to ensure students will receive the tickets they were selected for based on averages. 9.04.4 Payment for student tickets will be collected by the Athletic Ticket Office. Payment information must be provided at the time of purchase. Payments can be made with cash, check, or the following credit cards (MasterCard or Visa). 9.04.5 Students are required to present a valid U of L Student ID to pick up their season tickets from the Athletic Ticket Office. No other forms of identification will be accepted. 9.04.6 Tickets may only be picked up from the Athletic Ticket Office by the student whose name is on the tickets. Any exceptions must be approved by the Athletic Ticket Office Business Manager. 9.04.7 All undergraduate students are required to present a valid UofL Student ID in order to be admitted into Football and Men’s Basketball games. There will be designated student entrances for each of these respective sports. If the University is closed or on a holiday, IDs will not be checked for admittance (i.e. student IDs will not be required for a game over Winter Break) unless the ULAA, SGAAD, and SGAAC specifies otherwise. For example, if the University of Kentucky basketball game occurs during Winter Break, ULAA, SGAAD, and SGAAC can choose to require IDs to be presented). Graduate students are exempt from showing ID. 9.04.8 The SGAAD and SGAAC will host a minimum of one appeals process in the Fall semester allowing students who do not meet all of the requirements to be eligible for student tickets to present their case for retaining the tickets. It is recommended that the SGAAD and SGAAC host a second one for the Spring semester. Students wishing to appeal their status must submit their appeal to the committee who will then vote on waiving the requirements based on the student’s circumstances. This process will be communicated by SGA as will the results. 9.04.9 Students are required to pick up their tickets by the deadline predetermined by the ULAA, SGAAD, and SGAAC. Any tickets remaining after the deadline be reallocated to the students on the waiting list or the general student population. A refund will be issued to the original purchaser for the full price of the tickets. 9.04.10 Students are required to attend 80% of the Fall semester home basketball games. If the attendance requirement is not met, their Spring semester tickets will be forfeited and reallocated to other students through a student mini-plan package. Students who do not meet this requirement and do not retain their tickets will be issued a refund based on the number of games remaining. Attendance will counted by the ticket barcode being scanned and documented through ARCHTICS by the Athletic Ticket Office. 9.04.11 Students will pick up their tickets in the Fall semester for the games up through the end of Winter Break. The Athletic Ticket Office will coordinate a second pick up for the tickets to the games in the Spring semester. Chapter 905 9.05.1 The University of Louisville Student Ticket policy may be revised at any point that seems fit by the Athletic Ticket Office, Athletic Department, and the SGA Student Athletic Director.
