CITY OF TAMPA — Mechanical Technician, 6/84 to 8/87
Repaired and trained new technicians on repairs of many type of wastewater equipment which includes air
compressors; electrical and turbine generators; ozone and oxygen generation plants; blowers; gear reduction
equipment; hydraulic, submersible, positive displacement, and chemical feed pumps (polymer, methanolalcohol), and liquid chlorinators.
CITY OF TAMPA — Wastewater Plant Operator, 8/81 to 6/84
Operated in each phase of treatment assigned: primary treatment, sand and grit removal, oxygen generation,
ozone generation, aeration tanks, clarifiers, nitrification tanks, sludge thickening tanks, sludge belt presses and
sludge disposal.
Project Highlights
Remediation Injection System (3/2011 to 9/2011)

Budget: $161,000
Designed and constructed an injection system using corn syrup to enhance bioremediation of explosives near the
explosive washout lagoon source area. Operated and successfully injected corn syrup meeting all deadlines.
Environmental Project (8/2010 to 7/2011)

Budget: $1,300,000
Served as project/site manager on installation of dike synthetic liner and penetrations over 5 acres around 3
separate Diesel AST compatible of containing over 12,000,000 gallons of fuel.
Infrastructure Project (10/2009 to Present)

Budgets: $200,600 to $506,000
Assisted as on site manager to direct construction to improve existing wastewater system to accommodate a higher
flow capacity and to automate systems. Serve as liaison with local government officials, inspectors and client on
obtaining permits. Initial design had to be redesigned to accommodate local regulations. Attained services of
sub-contractors and suppliers for new design system to formulate bid price of change order.
Remediation Project (10/2008 to 9/2011)

Budgets: $300,000/yr
Manage all activities onsite for sampling, reporting, semi-annual hydro geologic monitoring of 33 monitoring wells,
pump and treat explosives-contaminated groundwater.

Supported and managed operators assigned to operate and perform maintenance at Union Pacific Western Division
oil recovering and treatment facilities. Trained and evaluated the performance of operators in safety and
operations of plants; produced regulatory and client’s reports; ensured all electronic data entry was completed
in a timely manner; organized a standard to all treatment facilities in respect to O&M Manuals, Preventative
Maintenance Schedules, Repair Manuals, and Safety Manuals.
