Managing Adults in

setting
Science in the early

Enabling Environments: Are
you making the most of your
indoor and outdoor
environments? Does your
environment offer rich learning
opportunity through play and
inspiring teaching? Do you
provide challenge in your
environment?
Adults are the most valuable
resource you will ever have in
the EYFS. This session will look
at the role of the adult in the
setting including volunteers and
students. We will look at the
importance of managing a team
approach to follow children’s
interests and the focus will be on
enhancing the adults role
enabling them to support the
provision of a stimulating and
purposeful environment. We will
also consider statutory
requirements regarding adults in
the setting.
This session will explore ways of
capturing young children's
naturally curiosity in order to
nurture their emerging scientific
skills and encourage the
development of scientific
knowledge. We will consider
your role in providing experiences
