Businesses across the world – high tech and traditional – are racing to identify opportunities in the new digital innovation ecosystem to take-up and deploy high impact technologies, build new business models, revolutionise value chains, and provide innovative products and services for citizens, businesses and government. Policy makers are designing smart specialisation initiatives that engage the actors of regional digital innovation ecosystems and lead to efficient academy-industry cooperation contributing to growth and global competitiveness. The eDIGIREGION International Conference is an annual event supported by the European Commission that presents novel approaches of businesses and policy makers to reap the benefits of the digital innovation ecosystems. The eDIGIREGION International Conference exchanges experience on smart specialisation initiatives, and business models that have contributed to boosting regional innovation ecosystems based on advances in information and communication technologies. The eDIGIREGION 2015 International Conference will be the first event in this series, and will take place in Budapest, Hungary on 19th May 2015. In 2015 the conference focuses on future internet and internet of things technologies and applications. Conference Topics eDIGIREGION is now inviting contributions to the conference session of this event. The closing date for proposals is 27th April 2015. Selection The abstracts will be reviewed by an International Committee, which is composed of representatives of European private and public research and industry. Financing Participation of a limited number of contributors (speakers, poster presenters, exhibitors) will be financed by the eDIGIREGION project. Contributors presenting ongoing EU funded initiatives are expected to cover their own cost of travel to and participation at the conference. Exhibition Applications for exhibition stands that demonstrate innovative uses of Future Internet (FI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies that have the potential to deliver significant impacts on regional innovation ecosystems are invited. There is no fee for renting exhibition places, however, exhibitors are expected cover their own cost to travel and exhibit at the conference. Exhibitors will be provided with a background, a table, chairs, electricity and wi-fi. The area available for exhibits is 5 m2, however, depending on the layout of the venue, available spaces, some variations of size and shape may be accommodated. Should an exhibit’s installation require special conditions (space, shape, technology, etc.), this should be indicated in the application form.
