Position for a Postdoctoral Researcher The junior research group „Microbial Biotechnology“ at the Faculty of Biology, Ruhr-Universität Bochum offers a position for a Postdoctoral Researcher After the final approval of the funding agency, the position will be available from April 1st 2015 and for a duration of 2 years. Objective is the development of novel chemoenzymatic cascade reactions in a third-party funded project. Tasks are the planning and establishment of metal-organic and enzymatic reactions and their combination to novel one pot syntheses. Focus lies on the application of decarboxylating catalysts. We offer an exciting research project, a well-equipped laboratory and a fruitful scientific atmosphere. Candidates should hold a PhD degree in chemistry or a related subject. The applicant should have research experience in organic synthesis and instrumental analytics (in particular NMR, MS, IR, HPLC and/or GC). Expertise in working with enzymes, biocatalysis, microbiology, molecular biology, protein engineering, structural biology is welcome.
