There will be a Veterinary Surgeon and a Farrier ON CALL. First Aid will be in attendance. The
organisers of the show have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the HEALTH & SAFETY of
everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to
avoid and prevent accidents occurring, and they must obey the instructions of the organisers and all
officials and stewards. No responsibility will be accepted by the organisers for any loss, damage, illness
or injury sustained by the exhibitors, riders, or their animals and entries are accepted on this basis.
Anyone on a horse must wear a hard hat. Grooms must wear a hat when in the ring.

Riders/In Hand Regional Championships in Classes 1-13,15-37.
1st and 2nd riders qualify and will receive a qualification card in the ring. The two
highest placed handlers with a TSR In Hand card will qualify in any In Hand class
.Handlers MUST have their cards signed in the ring by the judge –it is the handlers
responsibility to have a card. Cards are available from the TSR website

MAIN RING
CLASSES START AT 8.00AM AS FOLLOWS:
JUMPING PHASES OF CLASSES 1 & 2 WILL BE COMPLETED BEFORE SHOWING
PHASE OF CLASS 1. CLASSES WILL THEN FOLLOW ON IN NUMERICAL ORDER.
All Hunter/Sport Horse classes will be judged under the Society’s rules and SHB (GB) requires all entries
in the Hunter classes to be registered. Classes 2, 3, 6-10 are qualifying events for RIHS 2015. The
two highest placed horses in classes 3, 6, 7, 8 will qualify. No horse lower than second in its class will
qualify. The three highest placed horses in Classes 2 will qualify. No horse lower than third in its class
will qualify. In Classes 9 & 10 - the two highest placed Smalls and the two highest placed
Lightweights will qualify and in the heavyweight section the two highest placed Middleweights
and the two highest placed Heavyweights will qualify.
Competitors must wear a skull cap or hat and safety harness, according to the current BSI or
European standard at all times. Skull caps must have a navy blue or black cover.
Only horses on the 2015 Show Hunter Register are eligible to enter. Registration numbers
must be quoted on the entry forms and owners and riders must be full members of the society.
Horses in classes 1, 4, 5 and 11 are only required to be registered on the basic identity record
or Stud Book of the Society.
Any exhibit found not to be correctly registered will be
disqualified.
No Horse may be entered in a Ridden Hunter, Working Show Horse class or Riding Horse class
at the same show. This does not apply to Working Hunter and Ridden Sport Horse classes.

WORKING HUNTER CLASSES

Working Hunter courses are not to be walked by competitors until the judge has given
permission.
Any horse which has qualified as a Grade A Show jumper or Advanced Event Horse as at 1st January 2015
is not eligible to compete in Working Hunter Classes. THE MAXIMUM TOTAL POINTS AVAILABLE IS
100- THIS IS MADE UP OF: JUMPING POINTS = MAX 40 POINTS. STYLE & PRESENCE WHILST
JUMPING = MAX 20 POINTS. RIDE = MAX 20 POINTS. CONFORMATION= 20 POINTS. Horses
with minus scores may not be required for the second phase of the class at the discretion of the judge.
Under no circumstances should a horse with a minus score be in a qualification position. There must be
a change of course between Novice and Open Working Hunter Classes. Fences to be a minimum
of eight and a maximum of twelve in number. Open class maximum height 3'9" (1.14m).Novice classmin height 2’9”(0.85m) max 3’3”(1m) at the discretion of the judges. Working Hunters may compete
hors concours in novice working hunter classes, in the jumping phase only, at the discretion of
the show secretary, BUT the horse cannot compete in any working hunter class for the
duration of the show. All obstacles are numbered. Fences should have a natural presence and not be
easily dislodged .The manner of going to be taken into account. No change of rider or tack will be
allowed (unless a horse is ridden side saddle, in which cases in order to allow the judge to ride, the
saddle may be changed for the riding phase only). Horses may be equipped with boots of a plain colour
in the jumping phase only, rigid or weighted boots are not allowed. No hind boots or bandages of any
description are allowed in the collecting ring, warm up or in the actual class. On completion of the
jumping phase ALL CLEAR ROUNDS and any other horses the judges may require, should be asked to
return to the ring. If a horse positively stops or turns its quarters to a fence or has a complete
turnaround, these constitute refusals. If a horse jumps the incorrect fence out of a pen or lane it will be
eliminated. Horses displaying continued disobedience or horses leaving the ring whether mounted or
dismounted will be eliminated. In the event of a horse falling during a class that horse will be asked to
leave the ring and will not be allowed to compete further in that class.
Exhibitors will be allowed to compete two horses in a Working Hunter Class but following the jumping
phase it will be up to the exhibitor to select ONLY ONE horse to take forward into the ridden and
conformation section if required.

THE BSPS ‘RUTH LEARS’ CHALLENGE FOR NOVICE WORKING HUNTERS: the first three competitors will qualify
for the final to be held at BSPS Summer Championships Show on 26th-29th August 2015. Qualifiers do not have to be

AMATEUR RIDERS CLASSES
AMATEUR STATUS: A person is an amateur for showing purposes when showing ridden hunters in an
amateur class if he or she does not:
a)
Engage in livery, buying, selling, dealing or hiring horses as a means of deriving a main source of
income since 1st January 2013.
b)
Accept remuneration whether it be monetary or goods in kind for employment in connection with
horses in a racing, showing, livery stable or riding school. (Instruction at Pony Club or Riding
Club excepted) since 1st January 2013.
c)
Show a horse owned or sponsored by a company or commercial firm or a horse for which his or
her immediate family accepts livery or training charges from a person outside the immediate
concern since 1st January 2013.
d)
Show a horse which a professional rider has ridden in any ridden hunter or sport horse class
during the current year, unless the horse has subsequently reregistered under new ownership,
with the exception of Working Hunter & Ladies Hunter classes.
e)
Professional show persons must not enter the Amateur Ring whilst the classes are in progress. A
professional show person is another term for a professional producer and as such a professional
groom who works for a producer can enter the ring to groom.
f)
A professional rider must not ride or exercise an amateur’s horse on the day it is competing in
amateur classes.

BLUE CHIP FLAT RIDDEN SPORT HORSE CLASS
Owners & Riders must be SHB (GB) MEMBERS
THE BLUE CHIP FLAT RIDDEN SPORT HORSE CLASS: the highest placed 4 year old, 5 year old, 6year
old and over year old to qualify for THE BLUE CHIP FLAT RIDDEN SPORT HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP to be
held at the National Hunter Show 2015. In the event that there are no 4 year olds or no 5 year olds, the
top 3 horses, of any age and not already qualified, will qualify( qualification to pass down the line).The 3
qualifiers will each receive a Blue Chip cap and qualifier rosette, with the following prizes awarded; 1 st£30 voucher, 2nd-6th-£10 voucher.

RETRAINED RACEHORSE CLASSES
The Tattersalls, RoR / The Jockey Club RoR Novice Thoroughbred Show Series 2015
These classes will be run the rules of RoR. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show
agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorse Rules and Regulations from time to time in force. All
entries MUST be registered with RoR and RACED in GB. Please be aware that the show will split the
class on the horse’s last run in a race (NH or Flat) or will provide 2 ride judges should entries exceed 20 Please mark your entry form accordingly. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with
a chinstrap. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be
plaited. Racing injuries and blemishes will NOT be ignored.
Class 12 will be judged when Class 9 (in Ring 1) commences. Class 13 will
follow

Class 12:
The Tattersalls and RoR Thoroughbred Ridden Show Horse Class
Thoroughbred mare or gelding 4 years and over any height. The first three go forward
to the championship at the Hickstead Derby Meeting on 28th June 2015. There will
be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15 years or over. Horses will be ridden by
the judge.

Class 13:
The Jockey Club RoR Novice Thoroughbred Ridden Show Horse Class
Thoroughbred mare or gelding 4 years and over any height. To take part in this class, the
horse must NOT have won any open show class. (RoR, SEIB/HOYS,TARRA qualifier or any
other open show class). Riders must be 15 years or over on 1st January. The first three
go forward to the championship at the Aintree National Showing Show, August
2015. Horses will NOT be ridden by the judge; each horse to complete an individual
show of no longer than one and a half minutes to include the following movements: Walk,
Trot, Canter showing change of leg, extended canter, halt and stand, walk off on long
rein. Horses will be stripped for conformation.

MAIN RING

RIDDEN ANGLO AND PART BRED ARAB CLASS exceeding 148cms
(Under BSPS Rules)
Classes 14 is a qualifier for the Cherif Championship 2015. The final will be held at the
Cherif Championship Show, Addington Manor Equestrian Centre on 16th September 2015. All
details and qualifying cards at £25 each (payable to Cherif Championship) from: Miss L
Temple, The Stables, Ashton Gifford Lane, Codford, WILTS BA12 OJX. Please state the name
and accurate height of horse/pony. SAE please and contact phone number.
In Class 14 two may qualify. The highest placed entries within the first four in the class at a) up to
and including 153cms (15.1/4) (White card) and b) over 153cms (Green card) will qualify. No entry
placed lower than fourth can qualify even if only one height section is covered by the top four in the
class.
All exhibitors are issued with colour coded qualifying cards, which state the height section of the
horse/pony.
Competitors MUST carry their qualifying cards in the ring to be signed by the judge.
Failure to produce the card for signature means non qualification. No cards are to be brought into
the ring once the class has started.

The final to be held at the
NORTH OF ENGLAND SUMMER PONY SHOW on 11th July 2015

Animals must be registered in the AHS, Anglo and Part Bred Arab stud book and registration numbers
must be declared and a copy of the registration papers must be forwarded when entering. Owners
must be a BSPS Adult Member. Riders under 18 on the 1st January 2015 must be a BSPS Junior
Member and riders 19 years and over on 1st January 2015 must be a BSPS Adult Member .Class
15 is a qualifier for RIHS 2015. Only one animal in Classes 15 will qualify. The highest placed animal
not already qualified from the first three animals in these classes will qualify. Any suitable bridles may be
worn and spurs may be worn in Class 15.
Marking: 50% performance/ride; 50% conformation, type and freedom of action.
(NB Class 56 – for Ridden Anglo and Part Breds not exceeding 148cms - takes place on
Saturday at 8am in Ring 2.)

Class 14:
RIHS Ridden Anglo and Part Bred Arab, mare, stallion or gelding 4 years old
and over exceeding 148cms. Rider any age. To be judged as a riding horse

ridden by the judge.

BSHA CLASSES
Classes 15,16,20,21,25,26,27 are qualifying classes for RIHS 2015. The first prize winner will qualify to
compete at the final. If already qualified, the second will qualify. If the first and second are already
qualified then the third will go forward.
Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the
Association and all owners, exhibitors and riders must be Association Members. Riders must be 15
years of age or older.
Non Members may purchase up to a maximum of two ‘Day Tickets’ per exhibitor, per horse, per
season. A Day Ticket will allow entry into Novice and Amateur Classes only but will not allow entry
into RIHS qualifying classes. Horses registered on a Day Ticket do not require a JMB Height
certificate. Competitors can purchase a Day Ticket by downloading an application form from the
BSHA website –www.britishshowhorse.org
Horses competing at the RIHS and qualifying shows in Hunter sections of SHB(GB)at
their Affiliated shows cannot compete in Hack, Cob and Riding Horse classes at the
same show, on the same day and vice versa. This does not apply to SHB (GB) Ridden
Sport Horse classes.
The three highest placed prize winners in all Open affiliated classes will qualify to compete in
the BSHA Classic Supreme Classes at the National Championship Show at Addington
(11th/13th September 2015)
Any exhibitor placed in the first three in classes 44 -46 may enter the ‘RISING
STARS’ classes at the National Championship Show, September 11th/13th at
Addington. No qualifying card required.
The BSHA offers a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each Open class and a
Champion rosette for each section.

RIDING HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP
(First and second prize winners from classes 20, 21)
AMATEUR CLASSES
AMATEUR STATUS: A person is an amateur for the purposes of classes run under Association Rules if he
/ she does not, during the current or previous season:
(i)Engage in breeding, livery, buying, selling, dealing or hiring horses in a commercial capacity.
(ii)Received remuneration for employment in connection with horses in racing, showing, livery
stable or riding school (instruction at Pony Club or Riding Club excepted). This does not include
the
suppliers
of
ancillary
services
such
as
farriers
and
vets.
(iii)Own/Part own an equestrian establishment including but not limited to riding
schools, events centre, stud or livery yard in any capacity, or receive any form of
remuneration for employment at an equestrian establishment. For the avoidance of
doubt for the purpose of this rule, immediate family members of an owner or part
owner of an equestrian establishment who work or are howsoever otherwise engaged
or involved in any capacity, whether or not for remuneration at the equestrian
establishment, will be treated as being an owner of that equestrian establishment.
(iv) Show a horse owned or sponsored by a company or commercial firm, in any showing classes,
BSHA or otherwise, or a horse for which his/her immediate family accepts livery or training
charges from a person outside the immediate family concerned.
(v)A competitor is not eligible to compete in amateur classes on an Exhibit which has been ridden
by a Professional Rider in any Open classes, BSHA or otherwise, with the exception of Open
Working Show Horse and Side Saddle classes ,during the current year, unless the horse has
subsequently been re registered under new Ownership.
On the day when an Exhibit is competing in an Amateur class, Professionals are not allowed to
ride or work in the relevant animal. No Professional Producers are allowed into the ring to
groom/strip the Horse.
Classes 22,23 & 24 are qualifiers for the BSHA Grass Roots Training Championship which will be held at
the BSHA National Championship Show in September. The two highest placed Horses not already
qualified and which fulfil the criteria of the BSHA Grass Roots Training classes will qualify. The Rules

for the World of Colour National Championship Show held at College EC, Keysoe, Beds. On 23 rd

This show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (BSPS) and all persons entering,
competing, showing or otherwise taking part in BSPS classes whether or not members of the
BSPS are subject to the constitution and rules of the BSPS, including the disciplinary
procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS. However
owners and riders must be BSPS members and the pony registered with the BSPS to
compete in classes with qualification for RIHS (including RIHS Heritage qualifying
classes) and the Blue Riband.
This show is a qualifier for the 2015 BSPS Championship Show. The first and second prize winners
only in classes 38-42, 47-50 and the first, second and third prize winners in classes 44-46, 51-55, 61 &
62 and the first, second, third and fourth prize winners in classes 43 & 57 will qualify for the BSPS
Championship Show provided the animal is registered in accordance with rules 23 and 28 and ridden by a
BSPS member.
Any pony taking part in classes judged under BSPS rules will be liable to dope testing.
This show is a qualifier for RIHS 2015. Only one pony in classes 38-42, 44-55 and 59 will qualify. The
highest placed pony not already qualified from the first three places in these classes will qualify.
This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Blue Riband Pony of the Year. The first and second prize winners
in classes 38-42, 44-50 will qualify.
This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Classic Security UK Ltd Challenge. The highest placed pony in
classes 38-42, 44-55, 59, 61 & 62 that has not already qualified for the 2015 HOYS will qualify in the
appropriate class. If the highest placed pony has already qualified for the BSPS Challenge the
qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony.
This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Champion of Champions. The Champion Mini and Open Show
Pony, the Champion Open Show Hunter Pony, the Champion Intermediate will qualify. Ponies that have
been placed first in the Open Heritage classes will qualify for the BSPS Heritage Wow Factor (Winner
of Winners) at the BSPS Summer Championship Show.
BSPS rosettes will be awarded to the Champion and Reserve Champion SP, SHP and Mini and
Intermediate provided the pony is owned, registered and ridden by a BSPS member.
The Best Rider in classes 38-42, 44-50, 59,61 & 62 and the best rider 25 years and under in classes 5155 will receive a card and qualify for the BSPS Black Country Saddles Best Rider of the Year at the
BSPS Championship Show. This is a BSPS Area 2B points qualifying show.

Classes 56 is a qualifier for the Cherif Championship 2015. The final will be held at the
Cherif Championship Show, Addington Manor Equestrian Centre on 16th September 2015. All
details and qualifying cards at £25 each (payable to Cherif Championship) from: Miss L
Temple, The Stables, Ashton Gifford Lane, Codford, WILTS BA12 OJX. Please state the name
and accurate height of horse/pony. SAE please and contact phone number. Ponies 148cm and
under will be ridden by a lightweight judge at the Cherif Championship final.
In Class 56 two entries may qualify. The highest placed pony at 138cms (Pink card) and the highest
placed pony over 138cms up to and including 148cms (Blue card) will qualify. The highest placed ponies
within the first four in the class, who have not already qualified, will qualify.
All exhibitors are issued with colour coded qualifying cards, which state the height section of the
horse/pony.
Competitors MUST carry their qualifying cards in the ring to be signed by the judge.
Failure to produce the card for signature means non qualification. No cards are to be brought into
the ring once the class has started.
