(410) 243-3790 KLEIN ENTERPRISES CELEBRATES 2013 SUCCESSES Real estate development company broke ground on six projects from shopping centers to residential rental properties BALTIMORE – From a new Social Security Administration facility in Baltimore City to the Marketplace in Fells Point, Baltimore real estate development company Klein Enterprises had a successful year, breaking ground and/or working on six projects in 2013. “At Klein Enterprises, we take a long-term approach to the communities we invest in,” said Daniel Klein, president of Klein Enterprises. “The properties we’ve broken ground on and completed this year are examples of just that.” Klein Enterprises’ 2013 portfolio includes: 1. Social Security Administration – Baltimore City – In 2012, construction began on the new 538,000-sq.-ft. two-building facility, which will house 1,600 employees. To be completed early 2014, the transit-oriented, sustainable development is a partnership with The JBG Cos. of Chevy Chase and features an array of environmentally –friendly elements including a green roof and a park area. Both companies are partners in the development and management of the property, which is the largest single tenant lease ever signed in the history of Baltimore City. 2. Walgreens – Charles Town, West Virginia – Completed this summer, the Walgreens on Flowing Springs Way is 14,550 sq. ft. and situated by the main entrance to the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races. 3. Northwest Plaza – Baltimore City –SecurityPlus Federal Credit Union opened a new location on November 25th. Klein Enterprises worked closely with SecurityPlus to design and build the new 3,000-sq.-ft. branch in this preexisting shopping center. The opening was projected to coincide with the opening of the Social Security Administration facility. 4. The Townes at Mill Run – Owings Mills, Baltimore County - Scheduled to open in January 2014, the 108-unit residential rental property features townhomes with two- or three-bedroom floor plans, garages, granite counter tops and steel finish appliances. The community provides amenities including a clubhouse, pergola, fitness center, tot lot and more. 5. The Marketplace at Fells Point – Baltimore City – The east block of this development featuring 160 one- and two-bedroom apartments and 28,000 sq. ft. of street-level retail space is to be completed early 2014, while the west block is scheduled to open summer 2014. This urban redevelopment is a partnership between Klein Enterprises and The Dolben Company, Inc. and maintains the fabric of the historic Fells Point by keeping the original facades of the buildings on Broadway while providing modern amenities such as a game room, fitness center, granite counter tops, and steel appliances. 6. Apartments at Charlestown Crossing – North East, Cecil County – Another partnership between Klein Enterprises and The Dolben Company, Inc., this residential rental property built and completed in 2013 features 330 apartments and is an addition to the 256-acre mixed use PUD featuring single-family homes and townhouses currently under development by Klein Enterprises and CT Signature Homes.
