13th Annual Twin Cities Jazz Festival Set for June 23-25
Impressive lineup continues to grow!
Panama Jazz Sensation Danilo Perez, Gary Burton Quartet to Headline
SAINT PAUL, Minn., May 26, 2011 – Last year’s attendance set a record for the Twin Cities
Jazz Festival and the bar will be raised again this summer when a jazz-lover’s lineup takes the
stage for three days. “We have music for everyone,” says executive director Steve Heckler “plus
the price is right -- all the music in Mears Park, on three stages, is free!”

The Peterson family has been performing locally, nationally, and
internationally for many years. The talented family is headed by
Matriarch Jeanne Arland Peterson, her five children Linda, Billy,
Ricky, Patty and Paul and nephew Jason.

New Gary Burton Quartet featuring Julian Lage, Antonio
Sanchez and Scott Colley
Nominated for 15 Grammy Awards and winner of six, Burton’s
latest band features vibraphone wizard Burton, Colley on bass,
drummer extraordinaire Sanchez and Lage on guitar – all of whom
Burton has performed with in the past.

musicians in the music world, Brazilian-born Eumir Deodato has
racked up 16 platinum records to his credit as artist, arranger or
producer; compilations of all his work as arranger, producer and

Danilo Perez with John Patitucci
This extraordinary Panamanian pianist and composer, Perez, is
among the most influential and creative musicians of our time. In
just over a decade, his distinctive blend of Pan-American jazz has
attracted critical acclaim and loyal audiences. Patitucci is a 15time Grammy nominated acoustic bassist, appearing on countless
jazz and pop albums. A world-class dynamic duo.

Jason Weismann Quartet
New to the Twin Cities Jazz scene and an emerging voice as a
sax soloist, Jason’s current projects feature some of the best jazz
musicians that Minnesota has to offer. His roster is a virtual who’s
who of fine artists in the Midwest.

James Buckley
One of the best modern jazz acts in the Twin Cities, the Buckley
Trio includes drummer J.T. Bates and pianist Bryan Nichols. Multitalented Buckley plays bass and composes all the music.

Salsa del Soul
Salsa del Soul is a Twin Cities-based, nine-piece orchestra who
