How to register – process
Please see www.bhc.edu/register to understand the steps to enrollment in classes. Be sure that your
application is complete (www.bhc.edu/application) before you call to sign up for the Compass test
(www.bhc.edu/compass).
You will then want to see an advisor to help determine your educational plan. Advising Center hours are
Mon-Tues, 7:30-6:00 and Wed-Fri, 7:30-5:00. You may either call 796-5101 for an appointment or else
you may walk-in during those hours.
How to request BHC transcripts
You may request that your BHC transcripts be sent at www.bhc.edu/transcript . There is a $6.00 charge
for this service. Please read the directions carefully.
How to get transcripts evaluated
You may have your school send your transcripts directly to the Black Hawk College Enrollment Services,
6600 34th Avenue, Moline, IL 61265-5899. You will then need to complete a Request for Evaluation of
Transcript form (see attached). Your transcript will then be evaluated during the first semester of your
enrollment.
Wants to take a minimester or summer class and attending another school
If you plan to take a class at Black Hawk to meet requirements are your school, please see
http://www.bhc.edu/index.aspx?NID=477 for more information.
It is important that you check with your advisor at your own school to make sure that the class you take
a Black Hawk College will transfer.

Please see www.bhc.edu/compass for our Compass test requirements.
If you have taken classes that you believe may exempt you from portions of the Compass test, you may
e-mail me a copy of your transcripts in an attachment along with your Black Hawk Student ID number.
If you prefer, you could fax them to (309)796-5139 – please direct them to me and then send me an email to me when you have faxed them.
Please indicate which courses you plan to take. If we are able to waive you from any portions of the
Compass test, I will let you know by e-mail.
