URGENT PRAYER NEEDED FOR NEPAL
On Saturday, April 25, just before noon in Nepal, the country was
rocked by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. Dozens of aftershocks
have followed, including a 6.7 magnitude aftershock that hit
about an hour after the main earthquake. As of this report, more
than 3,600 people have died, and this number is expected to rise.
There is widespread devastation in the capital of Kathmandu and
villages throughout the region. In two villages near the epicenter,
about 90% of the homes are destroyed.

The Wesleyan Church of Nepal has 52 churches and 141
preaching points. The JESUS Film Partnership of Global Partners
has been extremely active and successful, with the country
having 10 Wesleyan JESUS film teams. At the time of the
earthquake, many Wesleyan churches were in the middle of their
Saturday services. The Nepali work week runs from SundayFriday, so many churches hold their main services on Saturday.
Pastor Babu Hingmang, our national leader in Nepal, reported
that he kept everyone at the largest church in Kathmandu in the
service, as aftershocks continued to occur every 15-20 minutes.
About 100 people spent the night in the church. On Sunday the
group of believers was moved outside to open air because there
were significant cracks in the building, making it unstable.

Today, Pastor Babu has confirmed that eight of their church
members have been killed, 20 have been injured, and 16 of their
homes have been destroyed. This number is not complete
because Pastor Babu has not been able to contact each area.

where 100% of the proceeds will be used to assist Nepali victims
