Subject: Wildlife Ecology and Management Certificate
Hi Maribeth,
We are preparing a pretty major curriculum revision proposal here in the School of Forestry, which includes changes to our
certificates. One proposed change involves the Wildlife Ecology and Management certificate, which we offer jointly with your
department.
Specifically, we are proposing to add several additional courses to the Botany block of the certificate, including three forestry courses
and one biology course (BIO 431, Plant Morphology). The plan change proposal is attached.
Because the courses in the current version of the Botany block are not all offered on a consistent basis or with enough sections, this
has proven to be a very difficult area for scheduling and for student progression. All of the proposed new courses are offered on a
more regular basis. These proposed additions have already been discussed with key individuals involved in the oversight of this
certificate, include Teresa Lane and Tad Theimer from your department.
If this proposed change is acceptable to you, please let me know so that we can include your reply in our curriculum revision proposal.
Thanks,Jim
