PARKHALL SURGERY Parkhall Road, Somersham. PE28 3EU. 01487 740888 Winter 2015 Newsletter Diabetic appointments are changing! Have your say…………………………. All diabetic blood tests will be carried out by Rachel our Health Care Assistant (PART ONE) Please bring a urine sample to this appointment. All diabetic review appointments are now being done by our Nurses Jane and Kathryn (PART TWO). You will no longer need to see a Doctor for your Part Two appointment. Please make an appointment for your review 2 weeks after your blood test to allow time for your blood test results to be reviewed by the Doctor and Nurse prior to you being seen. The NHS Friends and Family Test Dispensary We would like to welcome Mandy Seamark to the Dispensing team. Mandy has over 10 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician in Papworth Hospital. Extension to Dispensary Hours To improve the service that we provide in the Dispensary, Mandy or Chris will now be available between 9.00am and 6.00pm Monday—Friday for any queries or collections. Repeat Prescriptions / Queries With our telephone system you can select option 2 and be put straight through to Dispensary to order your repeat prescriptions or ask a question. As our Dispensers are very busy when they first start at 9.00 we do ask that you wait until 9.30 before ringing. Minor Injuries A&E attendances are very expensive for the NHS and time-consuming for patients. For minor injuries we can provide the same service more quickly. This saves both your time and the local NHS money. Problems that can be treated at the Surgery include: cuts, burns, scalds, sprains, strains, minor head injuries and allergic reactions. Our staff are experienced and can assess and treat these appropriately. If you have a minor injury during normal Surgery hours Mon—Fri 8am—6pm please contact the surgery for advice. www.nhs.uk/friendsandfamily We would like your feedback on the care or treatment you received when you visit or contact the Practice.
