In the 2015 legislative session, funds for grades 9 and 10 College Bound Scholarship
students to take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) were provided in
Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill (ESSB) 6052 for the 2015–16 school year. The Office
of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) is working with the College Board to fund
the exams taken by the College Bound Scholarship students in grades 9 and 10. It is
encouraged that all College Bound Scholarship students in grade 11 take the PSAT at
no cost through the College Board waiver system. The PSAT will be administered on
Wednesday, October 14, 2015. There is no Saturday administration of the exam in
2015.
School test coordinators should identify the number of exams taken by the College
Bound Scholarship students on the College Board Remittance Report and name OSPI
as the “other paying educational entity.” Test coordinators who have already ordered
PSAT exams may add to existing orders. The last date for test coordinators to order the
test is September 25, 2015.
