Provide surgical and medical treatment and management for patients aged birth through 18 years for trauma, emergent surgery or
procedure intervention and elective surgery. Practice clinical decision making and critical thinking, including ordering and
interpretation of laboratory and radiologic diagnostics, pharmacologic management, and performing new consultations and
admissions. Round on patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and Pediatric Care Unit. Admit
patients from Emergency Department and outside facilities. Also participate in independent outpatient clinic. First-assist in the
operating room on full spectrum of cases. Also perform minor procedures for inpatients and patients in our outpatient clinic,
including, gastrostomy tube changes, suture placement and removal, drain, central line and chest tube removal. Provide patient and
parent education in pre- and post-operative settings. Assist in provider education with hospital staff and surrounding community.
