Immigration Year: 1874
1910 Death Certificate – gives her birthdate as June 2, 1941 (with 1 overstriking a
2 written initially) names her father Hy Johnson b. Canada and her mother
Ellen German, b. Canada. She is married Gore Cemetery, informant is Daniel
Waggoner and it notes her age at first marriage was 18.

Proof Statement
Abigail Johnson Waggoner was born June 1841 in Canada. (death certificate)
She was born in Nissouri (marriage record)
Both her parents were born Canada (death certificate and census records) or
Pennsylvania (one of 3 census records).
Abigail Johnson Waggoner’s death certificate names her parents Hy Johnson and
Ellen German.
Henry G.E. Johnson and Ellen German married in 1839 in Nissouri, Perth Co.
Ontario. (the lack of a source for this is our one problem)
In 1851 Henry and Ellen Johnson, of the right ages, are in Oxford Co., Ontario.
Oxford Co. is proximate to Perth Co.
In 1861 Henry and Ellen are in Blanchard, Perth Co. The ages and names of the
individuals in the household match those in the 1851 household, but Abigail is no
longer in the household.
In 1861 Daniel and “Abby Ann” Waggoner are in Oxford Co., ages 21 and 19, with
their first born son.
Excepting a few minor variations in ages, and the one reporting of Pennsylvania as
the birthplace for Abigail’s family, the evidence consistently supports the assertion
that she is the daughter of Henry G.E. Johnson who married Ellen German.
However… I think you have problems with Henry Johnson who married Ellen
German being the Henry G.E. Johnson who died in 1884.
