About the Strategy
Waveney District Council and Great Yarmouth Borough Council are working together to develop a strategy for the future management of the coast from Gorleston-on-Sea to Lowestoft.
Everyone living, visiting or working on or around the coast is invited to take part in determining how their local coastline should be managed.
The strategy spans the Norfolk and Suffolk boarder and covers 12.5km of the coast from Gorleston South Pier in the north to Pakefield, Lowestoft in the south. Funding for this strategy is one of the limitations but we are exploring all possible routes to secure resource for this important part of the coast.
About the consultation
This consultation focuses on the draft options for managing this stretch of the coast.
They have been developed with the help of the Strategy Board, which includes
Elected Members and the Environment Agency and the Advisory Group, which is made up of members of the community, businesses and organisations.
The consultation for the draft options finishes on 31 st October 2015. We will then review all of the comments received and make changes to the strategy where possible. During the consultation we will continue to work with the Board and the
Advisory Group. A further public consultation on the draft strategy will be held in early spring 2016.
Your feedback is important to make sure that the completed options and Strategy reflects the views of the local community.
