MUCHEA CATTLE REPORT 23rd September, 2013
Landmark reports 1,851 cattle were sold at Muchea, Monday September
23rd which included 140 calves. Again drafts of all grades of pastoral
cattle dominated the yarding with a large percentage of these being bulls.
Local trade and store lines were virtually non-existent. Heavy pastoral
steers remained equal with numbers well down. Early sales of heavy
bulls were flat, however later in the sale they improved up to 10-12c/kg.
Medium and light weight bulls continues to receive good competition to
remain full firm. Light and medium heifers eased 5-8c/kg. The quality
of the cow yarding fell away slightly on recent weeks and generally
slipped 5c/kg, however later sales of the best pastoral lines firmed to
close equal.
