A new on-line tool helps training on stone placing
Stone Placing is a new project funded by the European Union that seeks to strengthen
knowledge on handling and placement of natural stone and convert it into a more qualified
profession.
Stone Placing is a completely free on-line course that aims to increase the capacity of
workers in laying natural stone in order to ensure the quality of the final work and safety of
workers. All content is available for free on its own website
Two types of materials have been developed: On the one hand, there is a "Curriculum" on
working stone effectively and safely. This is available on the website in text format.
But the star of the project is undoubtedly the "Resource Center". An extensive catalog of
practical demonstrations on a variety of specific topics related to the placement of the stone
elements. The explanations are made through multimedia material. It contains the
necessary tools, recommendations and an animation per each product which shows the
process of placement for a better understanding of the building process. In total, over 20
animations that sought to clarify the most common doubts when handling natural stone.
Stone Placing is a project funded by the European Union under the “Leonardo Da Vinci”
program. It is sponsored by the German Natural Stone Placing Association and its
development has involved agencies and companies related to the field of stone from Spain,
France, Sweden, Croatia and Romania.
