Scholarship
The Mervin Bovaird Foundation will award a scholarship to four of Tulsa Community College 2012
graduating sophomores to attend the University of Tulsa full-time starting academic year 2012-2013.
Each recipient will receive $3,000 per semester for four consecutive semesters beginning with Fall 2012.
The Tulsa Community College will select recipients based on financial need and scholastic ability. If a
scholarship recipient defers entering the University of Tulsa or drops out for one or more semesters, the
recipient will forfeit the scholarship for the period of deferment or absence. This scholarship is paid
directly to the University of Tulsa each semester after verifying the recipient’s full-time enrollment.
Recipients will be selected based upon the criteria listed below:

Complete the Mervin Bovaird Foundation application
(2)
Complete the 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
(Note: the FAFSA school code is 009763)
(3)
Submit an essay detailing academic and career goals. Essay must have a minimum of 200
words.
(4)
Submit a letter of recommendation from a Tulsa Community College instructor.
(5)
Official transcript(s) from all colleges, including TCC.
(6)
Copy of an admission letter from University of Tulsa, signifying applicant has been
officially admitted to the University of Tulsa.
The Mervin Bovaird Foundation Scholarship application and supporting documentation must be
received by May 17th, 2012 at 5 pm. Students will need to write their first and last name at the top of
every document submitted with the application.
