Fluoridation news
In a meta-analysis completed last year
(www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3491930/):
"Findings from our meta-analyses of 27 studies
published over 22 years suggest an inverse
association
between
high fluoride exposure
and
children’s
intelligence"
Bear in mind that this
is just one of the
detrimental effects of
fluoridation.
And in related news it
was announced last
week that the Cairns
council will remove
fluoride
from
its
drinking water, saying it amounts to the
"involuntary medication" of residents.
Well done Cairns Council!

Relax & heal with Lisa's Shiatsu
The time has come and Lisa, Kew Organics
employee, has finished her Shiatsu studies and is
now a qualified Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies
Practitioner!!!
So … What is Shiatsu you may ask?
Shiatsu, a form of bodywork, is a means of
dynamic healing whereby the practitioner utilises
a knowledge of Traditional Chinese and Japanese
healing systems to detect imbalances in the body
and apply therapies to re-establish health.
Shiatsu is likened to “acupuncture without
needles” and involves the practitioner applying
pressure to the clients’ body in various ways to
deeply relax, invigorate and balance.
A treatment may also involve additional therapies
of – Moxabustion, Cupping, Spooning, Stretching
and Dietary advice, to aid the healing process.
Shiatsu can be highly beneficial for musculoskeletal disorders, digestive disorders, chronic
conditions, emotional imbalance, menstrual
disorders, pregnancy support and of course
relaxation!
The client remains clothed and it is best to wear
loose, comfortable clothing to get the most from
your treatment. Treatment duration is approx 1hr
15 mins.
If you would like to experience the serenity and
depth of Shiatsu as a relaxing and healing
bodywork modality please call Lisa on 9844 3684
to make your booking.
Treatments are available from Brunswick - 103

Vaccine concerns
Purple Carrots
Infanrix is usually given to babies at two, four and
six months as part of the federal government's
National Immunisation Program here in Australia.
From www.whale.to/v/infanrix6.html:
Infanrix is a vaccine that was released without
any serious testing for safety, in spite of the fact
that it contains antigens of six diseases for
injection into babies as young as two months. In a
cozy
relationship
with
government,
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) was able to keep
information about harm from the public.
Fortunately, that secrecy was broken with the leak
of a report given to the Belgian government.
It delineates 1,742 adverse events associated with
Infanrix..
These
are
adverse effects
that
were
reported
to
GSK.
The
information is
not
pretty—
especially when
you realize that
the vast majority
of vaccine injuries are never reported and that
deaths counted included only sudden death. First,
though, let’s just take a quick look at what the
report admitted happened over the two-year
period from 23 October 2009 through 22 October
2011:
825 adverse effects were identified.
36 deaths occurred.
Adverse events include autism, encephalitis, heart
failure, gaze palsy (indicative of neurological
damage), gastrointestinal hemorrhage, jaundice,
mental retardation (classed as not serious!),
removal of part of the intestine (also defined as
not serious!), opisthotonos (yet again labeled as
not serious!), paralysis. Guillain Barré syndrome,
convulsions, and many others.
Naturally, not all the reported events were
actually caused by Infanrix. GSK reported that the
number of reported adverse events was only 14.6
per 100,000. However, as reported by Initiative
Citoyenne, the doctors’ publication, Revue
française du Practicien, reports that this figure is
likely only 1-10% of the reality.
We are currently getting our organic
purple carrots direct from the
grower. In many ways they are
nutritionally similar to orange carrots
as well as tasting fairly similar.
Purple carrots however, have extra
antioxidant power because of their
unique anthocyanins, as well as extra
beta-carotenes. Anthocyanins are special color
pigments that double as pretty powerful
antioxidants. Antioxidants are common in many
of the red, blue, and purple produce and work to
combat free radicals. Free radicals damage our
body’s cells and we intake them in many ways,
including ingesting deep fried foods. The extra
antioxidants in purple carrots are great for the
prevention of blood clotting and, therefore, also
heart diseases. They are anti-inflammatory agents
as well as anti-bacterial.
Please visit the link above for the full article. And
perhaps if you know anyone that is considering
vaccinating their child pass the link to them to
assist in making an informed decision.
Best veges for cancer
"Antiproliferative and antioxidant activities of common
vegetables: A comparative study" (Dominique Boivin a,
Sylvie Lamy a, Simon Lord-Dufour a, Jessica Jackson a,
Edith Beaulieu a, Martine Côté c, Albert Moghrabi b,
Stéphane Barrette b, Denis Gingras a, Richard Béliveau),
2008 which can be found at
www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/03088146/112/2
looked at the top vegetables for inhibiting cancer
growth, They basically just ran vegetables through
a juicer and then dripped the extracted juice on
different cancer cells to see what would happen.
Here’s what they found…
The #1 most powerful anti-cancer food was
Garlic.
Garlic stopped cancer growth COMPLETELY
against these tumor cell lines:
Breast cancer, brain cancer, lung cancer,
pancreatic
cancer,
prostate
cancer,
childhood brain cancer, and stomach cancer.
Leeks were #1 against kidney cancer. Garlic
was #2.
But not just garlic and leeks, almost all vegetables
from the Allium and Cruciferous families
completely stopped growth in the various cancers
tested. Here they are:
Allium vegetables: Garlic, Leeks, Yellow and
Green Onions
Cruciferous vegetables: Broccoli, Brussels
Sprouts, Cauliflower, Kale, Red cabbage and
Curly Cabbage
Spinach and Beet Root also scored in the top ten
against many of the cancers tested.
Honorable mentions: Asparagus, fiddlehead (the
furled fronds of a young fern), green beans,
radishes and rutabaga (swedes & turnips).
