HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETING HELD OCTOBER 23, 2014
Approved the conference and field trip requests, as presented.
Approved, as listed and upon receipt of all appropriate documentation, adding the
following to the substitute list for the 2014-2015 school year:

Approved the request of Foxburg Fall Art, Wine & Food Festival Committee to use the lower
parking lot at the elementary school on October 12, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Two
buses will transport from the elementary to downtown Foxburg.
Approved the use of sick bank for an employee.
Approved the request of Bill Baron to be a volunteer for Varsity Basketball, upon receipt of all
appropriate documentation.
Approved the Pre-K/FIRST Program Keystone to Opportunity/FIRST Program Grant Agreement
with Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District.
Approved the request of Doug Knox and Junior Olympic Volleyball to use the High School and
Elementary Gymnasiums, Locker Rooms for the purpose of J.O. Volleyball. Practice on
Saturday’s from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. beginning November 1, 2014 through last
Saturday in April 2015 and one night a week, when available.
Approved the request of Anita Allen to hold Art Classes in the Art Room of the High School in
the evenings at an appointed time 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. during the 2014-2015 school year.
Approved the distribution of Eat’n Park certificates, pursuant to School Board Policy #913, for a
free kids meal to elementary students.
Approved the Final Reading of Policy No. 207 Confidential Communications of Students.
Approved the Final Reading of Policy No. 216 Student Records.
Approved the Final Reading of Policy No. 238 Custody/Parent of Record.
Approved the request of Fellowship Baptist Church to use the elementary gymnasium on
November 21, 2014 and December 12, 2014 for basketball and volleyball from 7:30 p.m. to
9:30 p.m.
Approved the request of the Falcons Basketball Boosters to hold their second Annual Falcons
Basketball Skills Camp on June 22, 23, 24, 25, 2015 from 7:00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
Approved the request of the Falcons Basketball Boosters to hold their 2015 Underclassmen
Tournament on May 20, 21, 22 and 23, 2015 from ___________ to
___________p.m.
Approved the request of the 5th and 6th grade teachers to hold “Open Mic Poetry Night” on
October 29, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the 5-6 Community Room or Cafetorium.
Approved Cody Thompson as an approved Driver for Thompson Transport Services, upon
receipt of all appropriate documentation and an interview with the administration.
Approved the request of Callander Transportation to add Theresa Miller as a substitute driver,
upon receipt of all appropriate documentation and an interview with the administration.
Approved the request of Sally Cratty to take November 12, 13, and 14, 2014 as unpaid leave.
Approved the request of the Prom Committee to host the 2015 Prom at the high school on
Saturday, April 25, 2015 which will include the Grand March, dinner and a dance.
Approved the request of the Prom Committee to have permission for the Prom Committee
members and Mrs. Rothen to be excused from classes on April 22-24, 2015 to decorate.
Approved for Judi Vano a Leave of Absence without pay
Resolved to charge admission for junior high boys’ and girls’ basketball games – suggested
amount being $2 adults and $1 students.
Approved Items A through E as follows:
A.
Consideration to hire Dennis Wetzel as First Assistant Softball Coach, upon
receipt of all appropriate documentation, at a supplemental salary of $1,972.
B.
Consideration to hire Brittni Mohney as Second Assistant Softball Coach, upon
receipt of all appropriate documentation, at a supplemental salary of $l,392.
C.
Consideration to hire David Middleton as First Assistant Baseball Coach, upon
receipt of all appropriate documentation, at a supplemental salary of $1,721.
D.
Consideration to hire Ricky Wulfert as Second Assistant Baseball Coach, upon
receipt of all appropriate documentation, at a supplemental salary of $1,392.
E.
Consideration to hire Jessica Taylor (has experience as a World Language
teacher, upon receipt of all appropriate documentation, at a salary of $49,064 and
will start October 28th.
Resolved to approve the Job Description of Family/Community Partnership Coordinator (birth5).
Resolved to approve advertising for the position of Family/Community Partnership Coordinator
(birth-5) contingent upon the KtO Grant.
Resolved to approve the reassignment of a Child Specific Aide effective October 13, 2014,
resulting in a change in compensation and benefits.
Resolved to accept the resignation of Joshua Tabor as Elementary Principal and Transportation
Director. Date of release is the end of the day November 26, 2014.
Resolved to advertise to fill the K through 12 Administrative Position and fill positions with the
best qualified candidates.
Resolved to approve the Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District Induction Program for
2015/16 to 2020/21.
Approved the replacement of Lois Orton’s 2003 Chevrolet Suburban with a 2010 Chevrolet
Suburban effective October 15, 2014.
Resolved to end the Bus #9 contract with Martha Jane Cook effective at the end of the
transportation day October 24, 2014.
Resolved to approve the awarding of a Bus #9 contract to Bailey Busing effective October 27,
2014 with appropriate changes made due to bus garage location and student enrollment.
