Winter Heat BBQ – December 4, 2013
The Winter Heat BBQ hosted in partnership with the Mission Friendship Center was a wonderful
opportunity for our ME to WE student teams to connect with our community and provide a lunch to
more than 200 people. Various items were given out as door prizes thanks to the collective efforts of
our liaison staff and their schools. Students sang Christmas Carols for the community members and
cultural learnings were provided by the Mission Friendship. The ME to WE campaign of “We stand
Together” was presented and several student and staff teams took to the streets canvassing the idea of
standing together to make a difference for our children. See the website Free the Children for more
