Should you have traffic or parking concerns, please call the California Highway Patrol at 661-294-5540** Message from Mrs. Saunders....... In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a bill proclaiming November 11th as Veterans Day and called upon Americans everywhere to rededicate themselves to the cause of peace. He issued a Presidential Order directing the head of the Veterans Administration, now the Department of Veterans Affairs, to form a Veterans Day National Committee to organize and oversee the national observance of Veterans Day. Tomorrow, we come together as a Nation to thank and honor Veterans for their service to our country. Tesoro del Valle Elementary thanks the many Veterans who have served our country to ensure the security, safety and well being of our nation. Awards Assembl y - MPR K/1st Grade 8:30 2nd Grade 9:00 3rd Grade 9:30 Visually inspect retaining wall drains, surface drains, ditches, etc. for obstructions, or other signs of malfunction. You should do this after the rain as well. As a precaution, try to avoid having large bare areas which could be sources for mudflows during a storm. Add vegetation in these areas that may need it. Prepare Your Vehicle The Lights o Make sure all the vehicle lights inside and outside are functioning properly. o Check vehicle fuses. The Tires o Traction is the key to good movement when turning and stopping on wet surfaces. The deeper the tread on your tires, the more water can be channeled out from under the tire and the more traction you'll have. o Check your owner's manual or door frame for the maximum pressure amount for your tires. Do not go above that pressure point. o Make sure to have the same tires on all four wheels. This will keep your car stable. o Insure that your spare tire is in good condition and properly inflated. The Brakes o Have the brakes checked by your mechanic. The Windshield Wipers o Keep the windshield wiper reservoir full. o Make sure wipers are in good condition (blades 11/24 Student Yearboo k Committ ee Meeting Compute r Lab 7:35 a.m. 11/24 A.M.
