INTRODUCTION:
Governance and corporate ethics has been in the spotlight in the last few months across the world and
especially in India. Unethical practices and sloppy governance have brought down corporates, hedge
funds and governments. Indulgence in insider trading and information dislocation has tarnished the
clean image that many leading consultants have built and nurtured through decades. Never before has
corporate governance and business ethics been in such an intense spotlight as of now.
And the best time to raise such searching questions and resolve many of our inner conflicts is now.
Green Evangelist is pleased to announce a day – long intensive workshop on Business Ethics, featuring
some of India’s leading thought leaders in this field.
Green Evangelist is a sustainability consulting company that advises leading corporates along the
spectrum of ESG Sustainability i.e Environment, Society and Governance.
We passionately believe that sustainability now is the hub of every enterprise and all activities revolve
around this hub. Achieving the peak in sustainable actions implies a sincere commitment from all
employees and stakeholders. We believe that corporate governance today has moved beyond printing a
code of conduct that employees must follow. It has now entered a realm where employees think,
commit and implement ethicality in their actions. Hence we are proposing to conduct this session.
Business Ethics blends two themes: what should we be / do (philosophy), and, why do we do what we do
(psychology). Hence any “training” that attempts to discuss ethics must include both, the organizational
perspective of ideal standards, and the individual’s perspective that seeks to understand how decisions are
made and how one may choose wisely.
The field of Business Ethics is no different from other areas of management where supplementing our
experiential learning with theoretical framework has unfailingly produced enhanced performance. The
same time tested recipe can add to our skills and comfort level particularly in dealing with situations
involving complex, multiple issues and conflicting interests.
With this in mind, the course is designed to provide tools to analyse a given situation, apply framework
to develop possible desirable targets/strategy and techniques to implement the strategy while resolving
ethical conflicts. This will enable the participants to appreciate process centered, rather than subjective,
thought process and inner discussions methodology that enhances success in implementing ethical
practices

FACULTY PROFILE
Mr. Manoj Chakravarti, Evangelist - Responsible Business, Ethics & Governance
Manoj Chakravarti is currently the Chief Operations Officer at the IIMB Centre for Corporate
Governance and Citizenship, Bangalore, wherein he leads the institute’ s initiatives in
developing and grooming corporate executives in corporate citizenship. Earlier he was the Vice
President - Corporate Affairs & Chief Ethics Officer at Titan Industries. At Titan, he was
responsible for adopting sustainability as a key component the company’s business strategy. He
continues his association at Titan Industries as Senior Advisor-Corporate, where he, is involved
with Corporate Sustainability, Communications and Leadership Development. Well-known in
CSR and governance circles, he is also an expert in UN Global Compact Principles and the
development of sustainability reports.
Ms. Piya Mukherjee, Leading Ethics Trainer
Piya Mukherjee is currently director of Vivekanand Education Society’s Leadership Academy
and Research Centre and a leading Management Academician. She is deeply passionate and
committed to the idea of inculcating a deep sense of spirituality and right thinking amongst
corporate executives. She has trained over 10, 000 employees of diverse countries, hierarchies,
and age profiles. She has conducted workshops on transformational training, one-to-one
coaching, “train-the-trainers” workshops, and “repeat” workshops. She has also done
customised training on intercultural competence for Indians working in the GCC region. She has
done programmes for companies such as Reserve Bank of India (RBI), The Taj Hotels, Resorts &
Palaces (all-India level, spanning General Manager to management trainee levels, from 2006 till
