In particular, if any students are interested in business and veterinary medicine I would love to offer my guidance and experience. I established the curriculum for the Penn
Vet/Wharton VMD-MBA program. I am currently a student in the program and only have wonderful things to say about it. Combining veterinary medicine and business has proven to be a wonderful combination. The entire program takes 5 years and you get both your Veterinary doctorate and your MBA from Wharton.
Additionally, if you have any Brazilian students who are considering returning to
Veterinary School in Brazil I have excellent contacts at USP Vet School (University of Sao
Paulo) which is the best veterinary school in South America. I also work a lot with other
Vet schools in Brazil if anybody is even interested. Shockingly, Brazil has over 140 vet schools for a population of 200 million people (compared to the 29 in the US).
I would also add Dr. Dean Richardson to your list of Dartmouth alumni. Dr. Richardson is an Equine Surgeon and Professor at Penn Vet. He is the PREMIER equine orthopedic surgeon in the world. Dr. Richardson was the vet who treated Barbaro, the racehorse. Moreover, Dr. Richardson is proud to be a Dartmouth alumnus and polls each new class to identify other Dartmouth alums in the classroom.

I decided my senior year at Dartmouth to change career tracks from psychology to veterinary medicine. I started the pre-vet pre-req's at Dartmouth and also completed a
2 year post-bac program at Tufts. I started out thinking I wanted to go into equine medicine, but changed to small animal midway through vet school. I have always known
I wanted to do surgery and plan on pursuing a residency. If anyone has questions about post-bacs, equine career vs small animal, surgery, or just the application/interview process in general, I would be happy to help. If anyone is interested in spending some time at AMC in NY, they are welcome to come shadow. It is a very large and extremely busy referral hospital on the upper east side Manhattan.
