French pavilion goes luxurious to celebrate index Dubai 25th anniversary
-
From May 18 th to 21st -
United Arab Emirates; May 2015 - A dozen companies will be on hand at the Pavilion organised by
BUSINESS FRANCE at INDEX from May 18th to 21st, 2015, representing the major trends in French
furniture and in the French lifestyle, showcasing an attractive offer well suited to the design buyers’
and upscale/luxury decoration market.
French furniture will adorn any interior, both designer and contemporary. Manufactured in France from
innovative materials, the nation’s industry came through the structural crisis which has affected Europe
and it currently exports to both its competitors and the emerging markets. Made up of 12,000
businesses, 30% of which are craftsmen, the sector employs 53,000 people and it accounted for €8b in
revenue in 2013.
Construction and home design professionals whose products are exclusively manufactured in France will
be gathered at the BATI DESIGN site, where the aim is to promote the awareness of their know-how,
their skills and their services, as well as the value added to their products, so that pricing will be easier
to understand, for both purchasing advisors and consumers. MDY, SOUS LE FROMAGER, TCUIR and
TESSELLIA will join this site.
With 50 years’ experience in marble cutting, MDY provides interior layouts for businesses and private
consumers. In order to be in a position to meet the most complex requests, the company implements
the most sophisticated bespoke lines of products with an extremely crafted finish. The latest digital
technology will fit harmoniously onto stone.
SOUS LE FROMAGER manufactures objects and layouts made of wood or exotic raw materials shipped
from the forests of Guyana, which is under sustainable management. Its one-of-a-kind products, made
in France, highlight rare, and sometimes priceless materials.
For its part, TCuir holds a patented technique to shape genuine leather using a plastic material. As they
offer new aesthetic, formal effects of unprecedented precision, the applications concern the luxury
market: standard parts for yacht interiors, cars, interior design, decoration, furniture, leatherwork, and
luxury products and accessories.
TESSELLIA is an artistic mosaics creation workshop intended for interior designers. Established in the
South of France, Véronique Juan, a graduate of the Italian School, provides new aesthetical shapes on
the basis of ancestral know-how. She has created the litovi, a high-tech mosaic available in over 800
colours. Thanks to its technical features, the litovi is an alternative to traditional materials in developing
contemporary mosaic.
Do not miss the GAUTIER booth, one of Europe’s leaders in design furniture. For the past 50 years, this
manufacturer of contemporary furniture for businesses and consumers is supplied in local wood from
maintenance shearing performed in sustainably managed forests. Acknowledged the world over for its
know-how, the company has built its reputation upon quality, especially in children’s bedrooms,
through more than 100 points of sale worldwide.
Next is BOISIMAGE, a member of Atelier d’Art de France (French Art Workshop), which creates
customised items on demand that it will export to Asia and the Middle East. Furniture, screens and
decorative paintings are hand-painted in its French workshops. Artist Sylvie Meozzi uses a variety of
materials: acrylic paint, paste, glass, pearls and fabric. Each unique model is signed. In a nod to women’s
fashion, the creations will adapt to a given mood in every kind of world: chests and beds for babies and
children, toy boxes, school desks, kitchen furniture, painted wardrobes and paintings.
CONVERGENCE-PARIS, a new brand stemming from a partnership between 3 young renowned French
designers, will be there with LA BOISSELLERIE, MINET and SOURICE. French manufacturers of
contemporary furniture, renowned for the quality of their products, they publish the creations of JeanMarc Gady, who works for France’s leading luxury brands. They are bound to appeal to all tastes in
equipping every room in the home thanks to their creative design and their sturdy materials.
