Cybersecurity Awareness Raising Poster Competition 2015 Terms and Conditions 1.0 Introduction This competition is jointly organised by The Ministry of Education (MOE) and The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Organising Committee’. 2.0 Closing Date The closing date for entries is at 3.00pm on Thursday, 30 April 2015. 3.0 Theme The theme for the poster competition is, “Be Aware, Secure and Vigilant” 4.0 Objectives 4.1 4.2 4.3 5.0 To create awareness on the dangers of disseminating unsolicited information freely. To stress the importance of being a responsible social media user. To foster a creative culture and enhance innovation amongst students. Poster Submissions 5.1 5.2 5.3 5.4 5.5 5.6 The poster must be related to theme. Images and designs used must be the original efforts of the participants and must NOT be from other sources such as parents, teachers or websites. The poster should be able to be printed as A1 size (approx. 58cm x 84cm). The poster should be submitted in pdf format with resolution not less than 300dpi (high resolution). All submissions from each school should be saved in pen drive(s) or burnt onto a CD or DVD to be submitted to the Organising Committee. Each poster submitted must be accompanied by an entry form, which will refer to the filename of the poster for ease of identification. Page 1 of 3 6.0 General Terms 6.1 6.2 6.3 6.4 6.5 6.6 6.7 6.8 6.9 6.10 6.11 6.12 6.13 To be eligible to enter you must be an existing student as of 1 January 2015 in any secondary or tertiary school in Brunei Darussalam. Entries must be entirely your own original effort and must not breach any copyright or third party rights. The Organising Committee will not be liable for any non-original work submitted by the participants and any entries containing images that do not have permission to be used will be excluded. All entries must be suitable for public viewing and must NOT express any form of profanity, sexual or racist elements. Images must NOT incite religious hatred or phrases that may be deemed inappropriate to other religions or races. Participants may submit up to three (3) designs. Entries will not be returned so remember to keep a copy. Each design must be able to be printed as A1 size (approximately 58 x 84 cm). The deadline for receiving entries for the competition is 3pm on Thursday 30 April, 2015 and should be submitted to: ICT Unit, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education, Level 8, Block 2J, Ong Sum Ping Condominium, Jalan Ong Sum Ping, Bandar Seri Begawan. The winner will be contacted before the prize presentation and the result will be announced in June 2015. The Organising Committee reserves the right to extend the competition deadline and announcement of winners at its discretion. The winner will be selected by a panel consisting of members from each of the Organising Committee and anyone else deemed appropriate to judge. Entrants will be judged in accordance with the criteria set out in section 7.3. The Organising Committee’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entertained. The contest may be declared void at the sole discretion of the Organising Committee. Furthermore, the committee reserves the right to cancel the competition at any stage, or change any of the rules or procedures if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside its control. Participants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when entering this competition. AITI shall obtain full ownership on all submitted works. AITI reserves the right to reproduce and publish any submissions in whole or in part in any form, including disclosing the identity of the author/s, and to use, adapt or develop any submissions put forward without seeking the permission of the author/s. AITI shall acknowledge the identity of the author/s in such cases. Judging Criteria: Criteria Marks Relevance to the theme 20% Creativity 20% Originality 20% Clarity of contents 10% Attractiveness 20% Can be reproduced easily on print or social media 10% 8.0 Prizes 8.1 Prizes and trophies will be given to the BEST three (3) posters. 8.2 Prizes will also be given to the top ten (10) posters. 9.0 Exhibition 9.1 The best posters, selected by the Organising Committee, will be displayed during the prize giving ceremony.
