Cyber Bullying - Parent Night RSVP form

Cyber Bullying A Parent Information Session
Parents are invited to Eldorado for an information session about cyber bullying. Our
school will welcome John Minardi as a guest speaker. His detailed biography is
outlined below. During the one hour session he will be discussing in depth with parents
about cyber-bullying issues and strategies to prevent and intervene. The session will
also examine how parents might be engaged with their children and technology by
looking at communication and stereotypes. The focus will be assuring parents
that technology is not to be feared but to be managed. Hand-outs and resources will be

John Minardi
I live in Mississauga with my wife Joann. I am a former
Secondary School Teacher and Administrator having
worked in the Peel Region for 35 years. As a teacher, I
taught languages, French and Italian at 4 different schools
and served as a Department Head of Languages as well. As
an Administrator, I worked in 3 schools as a Vice Principal
and then Principal. After I retired from Education in 2008, I
looked at the Canadian Red Cross as a viable career and
trained as a RespectEd Trainer & Facilitator. In addition to
my RespectEd work, I teach Adult Education with the
Continuing Education Department at the local School Board. In my spare time I
work with the Knights of Columbus and help serve the needy members of our
community with fundraising and humanitarian initiatives. I also enjoy singing
with an Opera group in Toronto and perform at frequent Opera concerts and stage
performances. I also enjoy jogging, playing tennis and travelling. In 2012, I was
nominated for the Toronto Star – Best Teacher Award across Ontario.
