Note: Position brights behind actors; set shadow before actors. They need to be DARK. CUT TO ACTORS Both have guns. Figure 1 (Ben) is standing, waiting for something. Figure 2 (Jack) is crouched down at the base of a tree. PAN TO JACK Jack is FRANTICALLY RIGGING A BOMB. Jack is hurriedly looking in the distance in the direction of Ben. NOTE: When names are italicized AND underlined and (in parentheses), it isn’t revealed who that person is yet. (BEN) How’s it coming? (JACK) Not fast enough. How far behind do you think they are? (BEN) We lost them, but we are in their territory. They can navigate quicker than us, and it won’t be long before they’re on our tails again. (JACK) (Emphasizing unfinished bomb) I don’t think I can finish it in time, Ben. I can hear them coming. BEN Just take your time. We didn’t lose Hig for nothing. Once you get that thing working we’ll blow this camp sky high. We’ll be heroes, Jack. 2. JACK (looking in the distance) Heroes… Yeah. There is a short silence as Jack continues to repair the bomb. Suddenly, Ben’s walkie talkie makes a noise. BENNETT (through Ben’s walkie talkie) Crew six four, what’s your status? BEN Give us a minute. BENNETT You’ve got thirty seconds. CUT TO BENNETT AND DAVID Bennett is looking through binoculars and kneeling to the left of David. David is peering through the scope of a .308. DAVID There’s no way they can make it out of there in one piece. BENNETT They know what they’re doing. DAVID True, but they’ll need a miracle. David turns a knob on the scope. NOTE: DON’T ACTUALLY TURN ANY KNOBS. PRETEND. DAVID (cont.) (peering through scope) Add fifteen. BENNETT (holding walkie talkie to mouth) Fifteen more. CUT TO AARON’S WALKIE TALKING ON HIP Aaron is impatiently holding a grenade. Sarah is off to the side lying on her back while tossing up and down grenades, bored. 3. AARON 10-4. CUT TO JACK AND BEN JACK Ben… Do you think we’ll even make it back? I mean… the explosion alone could destroy a major city. Will we have time to—— Ben cuts Jack off. BEN We’ll be fine. As long as we stick to the plan, and get this thing… Ben stops talking and stares in the distance. Not a sound is heard except for the chirping of birds and bugs. Jack looks up from his project and immediately knows what is going on. CUT FROM FACES TO BACKS; SHIFT FOCUS FROM SHOULDERS TO BAND OF SOLDIERS IN BLACK WAVING A BLACK PEN FLAG CUT TO ETHAN Ethan is the menacing captain of the Pen army. He shoots a few times in the air. CUT TO BEN AND JACK BEN Can you work on it while we move? JACK Yeah, but I can’t shoot. BEN That’ll have to do. They nod at each other and dash away. The Pen soldiers go in pursuit. CUT TO BENNETT AND DAVID BENNETT (Stressed, looking through binoculars) No, no, no, no, no! 4. David shoots a couple of times, sweating and stressed. CUT TO CHASE SCENE Chase scene with shots, jumps, and Jack struggling to fix the bomb. Ethan is the main Pen army guy chasing, accompanied by other goons. CUT TO AARON AND SARAH Aaron and Sarah, confused, listen to the distant, muffled clatter of the chase scene. Suddenly, they hear gunshots, look at one another, and sprint with grenades in hand towards the sound. CUT TO CHASE SCENE After a bit of distance has been traveled, Jack is shot in the leg. He screams and falls to the ground, still grasping the bomb. BEN (Shocked) Jack! Jack just mutters under his breath. Ben tries to pull Jack to his feet. BEN Jack, you’ve got to get up! JACK Ben, it’s not going to happen. BEN Shut it! We have to keep going. Jack falls from Ben’s grasp. Ben stands and watches as Jack sits himself at the base of a tree. He sets the bomb in his lap. Jack takes a screwdriver from his bag. Jack begins to work on the bomb. JACK You need to get as far from here as possible. If you sprint, you may be able to escape the blast radius. Here. Jack gives Ben the remote detonator. 5. JACK (cont.) It’ll beep when I have the bomb ready. Don’t worry about me. This is more important. Jack breaks his gaze with Ben to work on the bomb. Ben accepts Jack’s sacrifice and begins to run away. CUE MONTAGE OF PAST VIDEOS FEATURING BEN AND JACK During montage, Aaron and Sarah appear. They see Jack wounded, look at the bomb, look wide-eyed/mouth open at Jack (still working), and run away. Ben stops running. He drops his gun, and looks at the remote. Aaron and Sarah are shown to be far ahead. It beeps. CUE SPLIT SCREEN OF JACK AND BEN Ben hits the button and throws the remote. On Jack’s side of the screen, the Pen army led by Ethan is seen advancing towards Jack. Ben and Jack look at the camera, and the screen fades to white. A message appears saying something sappy like “Good Luck P3NC1l Propducers” or something. End. Good Luck Guys. EDIT: There should be a post-video vlog message explaining why we killed Ben and Jack. Just saying.
