There has been progress on getting a 4th grade shirt and class photo framed to hang in the hallway. It’s also being looked into getting the past years shirts and class photos hung in the school also. Shirts have not been ordered for teachers at this time due to cost. Representative for Mr. Kingery asked if the date for this event could be moved due to I-Step testing. The following week would work much better. It was agreed that this would be looked into. A. Grant presentation: Mrs. A. Smith (Kindergarten): Field trip to the children’s museum for all of the kindergarten class. B. Kindergarten summer camp 25 students. Requesting $455.00 for materials & supplies. Will help 25 academically challenged students entering kindergarten. 2. Fundraising – Julie Doss and Katie Richman: Kick off for the penny wars is on the 20th. Monday-Friday during lunch the money will be collected. A video of the kick off was shared with the group and will be played in the classrooms on Friday. The loosing grade levels teachers will get slimed by the winning grades teachers. If $5,000 or more is raised the administration will also get slimmed. The feedback from the group was very positive and looking forward to the outcome next week. The last spirit night will be at Orange Leaf on either May 6th or May 13th. It was agreed that May 6th would be great to go along with the I-Step testing. 3. Treasurer– Tara for Crista Moore: Pacers still have not sent a check to River Birch; Julie will look this into this week. It was brought to attention that field day shirts still are being worked on. At this time the lowest price has been $3.25 a shirt, looking at around $2,600 for this. We made a motion to spend more money that what was budgeted. It was seconded. 4. Teachers had positive feedback, and many parents and students said it went great. 7. Secretary Report – Rebecca Robinson: please have anything you would like in the newsletter to Rebecca by Friday so newsletter can get sent out before Penny Wars start. Tara with further questions/concerns: EPI needs to be decided tonight; small packaging/large box, and name brand/off brand. It was decided with teacher feedback on name brand items due to minimal cost difference, and small box. There was also discussion on next year’s board openings with many still open. Please share with others and invite anyone interested. Tara can answer in questions that interested candidates will have. Opening still are activities, corporate promotions, 2 fund raising chairs, treasurer. Meeting ended at 8:00pm. Next PTO meeting will be Tuesday, May 12th at 6:30pm
