Assessment Requirements at Mid-Placement: This document will be completed at the mid-placement meeting by the Field Education Coordinator/Field
Education Liaison Officer. At the meeting, students will be expected to review their Learning Plan and to identify what practice standards, learning outcomes
and assessment criteria were demonstrated and which ones were not. First placement students will reflect on their learning for first placement assessment
criteria and final placement students will reflect on their learning for first and final placement assessment criteria as per the Learning Plan. It is expected
students will consider each of the assessment criteria for each learning outcome.
Preparing for Assessment: Student prepares draft Mid-Placement report comments and seeks written feedback from Field Educator(s) and then submits
the report to Field Education Coordinator / Field Education Liaison Officer, with other written assessment requirements, five days prior to the MidPlacement meeting.
Assessment Level: A rating scale that identifies the levels of achievement will be used to assess the student’s performance. By the end of the first
placement a rating of two for each Practice Standard is required to pass the placement. A rating of three for each Practice Standard is required to pass the
second placement. This scale will be used by Flinders University and University of South Australia for assessing the student’s achievement for each practice
standard. The final assessment level will be determined by the Field Education Coordinator/Field Education Liaison Officer.Where a student scores a zero
for one or more Practice Standards a written plan will be developed to give students the optimum chance of reaching level two by the end of placement.
