The 2016 GP Solo/GLSA Joint Spring Meeting Key West, Florida May 12 – 14, 2016 Call for Presentations We are reaching out to GLSA and GP Solo members who would like to prepare and present a 60 minute session at our Spring 2016 Conference in Key West, Florida. We are especially interested in sessions such as: Customer Service How to Hire Good Staff Members Improving Office Efficiency, including Disaster Planning ERISA Review Ethics (Complying with State Bar Requirements, Social Media and Technology Ethics etc.) Trustee Oversight Responsibilities Topics in Estate Law and Management Identity Theft Bankruptcy Law Legal Plan Design Legal Plans in Comparative/International Perspective The Future of the Legal Profession Tech Tips Masters Courses – something higher level taught by experienced providers Women/Minorities in the Profession – Tips on Litigation (cross-examination, deposition etc.) Business Development (Blogging, Marketing, Website Design and SEO, YouTube video production etc. in seminar or workshop formats) Entertainment as Law OR Law as Entertainment (A few possibilities: Courtroom Magic Tricks, Juggling Clients, The Laws of Molecular Gastronomy, Key West for Law-Abiding Citizens etc.) If you have some special knowledge and experience in these or any other topic areas, and would like to be a presenter, please complete the attached proposal form and submit it to Stephen Ginsberg by June 12, 2015 via fax at 416-960-8047 or email to SGinsberg@uniforlsp.com. Please note the following regarding submitting proposals and being a presenter: The GLSA generally does not pay speaker fees, reimburse presenter expenses or waive conference registration fees, except in cases where a special guest speaker with certain needed expertise or credentials is not otherwise available. Persons who volunteer to make a presentation or otherwise participate in a program at a GLSA conference are asked to do so without the expectation of registration fee waiver or reimbursement of travel and other expenses. In recognition of their contribution, such persons who are listed as presenters on the final event program shall be awarded a $100 appreciation credit to be applied to the registration fee applicable to their fee category. The GLSA Conference Committee may at its discretion accept or reject any or all proposals. Selection criteria will include novelty of the topic, relevance to the lawyers, administrators, marketers and trustees involved in legal services plans and related legal service delivery activities, nature of the materials proposed and presenter experience. Each speaker is expected to adhere to all deadlines for forms and materials. To receive CLE credit, every session MUST have written materials. New regulations also require that any course seeking CLE credit must have at least one attorney presenting.
