1: Market researcher:
Market researchers organise research surveys for clients then analyse and interpret the survey
results, write reports, and make recommendations to their clients based on this research.
Entry Requirements
To become a market researcher you need to complete a relevant tertiary qualification. Useful areas of study
include:
psychology
marketing
statistics
the arts
Business studies or sociology.
2: Accounting Technician
Accounting technicians provide accounting, financial and management services to a range of
businesses, organisations and accounting firms.
Entry Requirements
To become an accounting technician you need to complete two years of tertiary study. This could be either:
a New Zealand Diploma in Business, or
degree-level study including coverage of required accounting and business topics.
3: Clothing Designer:
Clothing designers create ideas for clothing and other fashion items such as bags and belts. They
usually specialise in one area of fashion
Entry Requirements
To become a clothing designer a certificate, diploma or degree course in clothing design is recommended.
4: Interior Designer:
Interior designers plan and design spaces in residential, commercial, retail and leisure
environments.
Entry Requirements
To become an interior designer you need a degree or diploma in interior design. An architecture, interior
architecture or industrial design qualification may also be useful.

5: Beauty therapists:
Beauty therapists provide facial and body care treatments such as massage and electrolysis
Entry Requirements
To become a beauty therapist you need to complete a one-year, full-time certificate or diploma in beauty therapy.
To become a beautician (which excludes training in full body massage, electrolysis and laser hair removal)
you need to complete a six-month full-time, or one-year part-time course at a tertiary institution or beauty school.
Secondary Education
NCEA Level 2 or 3 science and English are useful.
