Viessmann biomass boilers: efficient systems for environmentally-friendly heat generation with wood This year, Viessmann will offer the following performance enhancements for efficient, environmentally friendly heating with wood: - The output range of the fully automatic pellet boiler Vitoligno 300-C is being extended up to 48 kW. The boiler fulfills all requirements of the second stage of the 1st German Federal Emission Control Act (1. BImSchV). - The fully automatic biomass boiler Vitoligno 300-H for woodchips and wood pellets is available from this spring with additional rated heat outputs of 50 and 60 kW. When it is operated with wood pellets, the emissions limits will be adhered to which were introduced on January 1st, 2015, in the second stage of the 1st German Federal Emission Control Act. Vitoligno 300-C: fully automatic compact pellet boiler with additional output capacities Vitoligno 300-C is a compact pellet boiler which particularly impresses due to its convenient operation and degree of efficiency of up to 95 percent. The boiler received the prestigious Vorarlberg innovation award last year because of its low emission combustion and this year the German Design Award for its design. It is now available with five further output capacities up to 48 kW. Fully automatic operation With output capacities of 18 to 48 kW, the pellet boiler can be charged either via the integrated suction system or a flexible auger. With the suction system, the turbine integrated into the boiler draws the wood pellets directly out of the pellet store or pellet silo. With the flexible auger, the boiler is supplied with fuel via a screw conveyor system. Automatic ignition (glow igniter) is carried out by a power-saving ceramic heating element. The stainless steel finned grate and all surfaces of the Vitoligno 300-C in contact with ashes are cleaned automatically. Convenient removal of ashes The ashes are conveyed via the automatic removal procedure to the ash bin trolley and are condensed at the same time. The mobile ash bin trolley has a capacity of up to 40 liters, making it much bigger than those of other pellet boilers. It needs emptying only once or twice a year. The closed trolley means that disposal is dust-free and very easy. Convenient operation Regulation of the boiler is as convenient as its operation. The weather-compensated Ecotronic controller has a graphic display with several lines of text and is programmable. Up to three heating circuits plus DHW generation and a solar circuit can be controlled in the standard design. A fourth heating circuit can be connected via the KM bus system. The controls are all menu-guided. Offered as an accessory, the wireless remote control Vitotrol 350 with touch display enables users to obtain all information and use all functions while in the living space. Economical and environmentally friendly wood combustion The innovative combustion technology ensures low fuel consumption and low emissions with its stratified fire bed, overhead charging of the combustion chamber, and output modulations of 1:3. The Vitoligno 300-C pellet boiler thus fulfills the strict emissions limits that have been in force since January 1st, 2015, in the second stage of the 1st German Federal Emission Control Act (BImSchV). Additional secondary measures such a fine dust filters are not required. Coordinated accessories A pellet hopper suitable for low-ceilinged rooms is also available for the suction system. It can be set up directly next to the boiler and filled, for example, with pellets from bags. The annual requirement for pellets is usually stored in suitably large pellet storage facilities. A modular 4/8 times suction probe system is also available. It is controlled via the boiler control unit and ensures that pellets are taken from the storage facility with an even distribution. For this purpose, there is automatic switching between the probes, according to how the pellets are distributed. The new probe system also has the security function of "wind back". If the pellet tubes are blocked, the suction direction of the turbine is reversed and the tubes are automatically blown free. The probes can be flexibly laid and are suited to very different environments. They can be used in walled storage facilities with and without a sloping floor, for up to two separate loading zones, and storage facilities with unhelpful shapes (e.g. very elongated or L-shaped spaces). Advantages for market partners - Easy installation thanks to compact design with suction system (integrated suction turbine) or flexible auger - Pellet hopper for low-ceilinged rooms (18 to 24 kW: < 1,400 mm, 32 to 48 kW: 1,600 mm) - Rapid start-up procedure thanks to Ecotronic controls with start-up assistant - Software update-function per SD card - Coordinated accessories for pellet feed and storage - Clean, efficient combustion thanks to low dust emissions, adherence to 1st German Federal Emission Control Act, Stage 2 Advantages for owners - Fully automatic pellet boiler for convenient heating with wood - Low fuel consumption due to high degree of efficiency, modulating mode, and weather-compensated control unit - High operational reliability thanks to self-cleaning stainless steel finned grate and rotary airlock feeder for full anti-burnback protection - Low power consumption thanks to automatic ignition with ceramic heat element - Automatic ash removal, ash bin trolley only needs emptying once or twice a year Technical specifications - Heat outputs of 2.4 to 48 kW - Degree of efficiency up to 95.3 % - Modulation range 1:3 - Volume of ash bin trolley up to 40 l Availability Vitoligno 300-C's new output capacities of 18 to 48 kW are available from August 2015.
