in Greenbrier County VA (WV). "... on the Greenbrier River in the
valley above Spring Creek and Corner with Callison ...", "... by
right of settlement and One pound Sterling." The grant was surveyed
October 27, 1780 and the grant was signed by William Harrison,
Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

(WV) in 1838. Samuel built and operated a grist and saw mill for
many years. He also practiced medicine during his entire life.

Mary, a daughter of John and Rachel Morris, was born April 7, 1828
and died in Braxton County October 21, 1860.
George married "Polly" Ingel in Braxton County February 25,
1861. Polly died September 12, 1862. George married Sarah Elizabeth
Duboise in Braxton County November 20, 1862. Sarah was born July 8,
1842. Sarah had two children before the marriage.
George received a land grant on Little Otter Creek in present
day Braxton County WV October 24, 1834 in exchange for Treasury
warrant #2590 and Land Office Warrants #0735 and #7687.

and died in Braxton County WV April 6, 1901.
Elizabeth had four children before marriage to Henry. They are
named as Jarvis in the 1860 Braxton County VA census. They were all
Henry's children.
Elizabeth was enumerated as "Elizabeth Burkhammer" in Henry's
household in the 1850 Braxton County VA (WV) census and her daughter
Mary was listed as "Mary Burkhammer."
