SCIARPP invites you to the fourth presentation in the Building Bridges Series, Saturday 21 February, 2015 with a live video-presentation by Donnel Stern Donnel Stern has been one of the most prolific contributors to the canon of formulations for how relational analysts work. In his books and articles, Donnel has been articulating a particular vision for how to understand therapeutic action based on ideas about unformulated experience, novelty, courting surprise and relational curiosity. Dr Stern will be presenting his recent paper “Relational Freedom and Therapeutic Action” live from New York. In this paper, he offers his most current and specific presentation of this vision. The paper will be followed by a conversation with panelists from a range of diverse psychotherapeutic orientations and will continue the tradition of “Building Bridges” events. This seminar series is designed to provide a forum in which the many psychoanalytically oriented groups in Sydney can engage together in dialogue and explore commonalities. The panel will consist of: Alison Clark Australian and New Zealand Association of Jungian Analysts (ANZSJA) Celia Conolly Institute of Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (ICAPP) Dr. Roberto D'Angelo Sydney Chapter of the International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (SCIARPP) Dr Ken Israelstam Sydney Institute for Psychoanalysis (SIP) Tim Johnson-Newell Australian Association of Group Therapists (AAGP) Dr. Henry Luiker Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) Dr. Tessa Philips Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy (ANZAP) Prof. Gill Straker Australian Centre for Psychoanalysis (ACP) Dr Anne-Marie Swan NSW Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (NSWIPP) With the hope of building bridges and extending the reach of our dialogue beyond Sydney, we will also be offering online participation for those who live outside of Sydney, utilizing Zoom video-conferencing. “Zoom” participants will be able to see and hear the presenter as well as the panel and audience, but will not be able to interact with them.
