Call for High School Artists
All high school artists are invited to enter the Alcoa American Bald Eagle Sculpture
Contest in conjunction with the May 7, 2016 Village in Bloom Festival in the Village of
East Davenport.
The winning entry will be molded, cast, finished and sold for at least one year by Isabel
Bloom as a fundraiser for future festivals. The winning artist will receive the first
finished sculpture and have her/his name included in Village in Bloom marketing
materials.
This is a great opportunity for your students!
ELIGIBILITY
Open to all currently enrolled High School students residing in Scott or Rock Island
Counties.
TIMELINE
Workshop: Students must attend one of two mandatory sculpting workshops led by
Donna at the Figge. $10 materials fee. Email Donna Young at donnay@ibloom.com to
register for either Thurs. Sept. 24, 5:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. or Sat. Oct. 3, 10:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m.
Final Sculptures Due: Sculptures and signed entry forms due NO LATER THAN Sat.
Oct. 31, 2015. Deliver to Isabel Bloom, 1109 Mound St, Davenport.
Winner Announced: By Sat. Nov. 16, 2015.
Village in Bloom Festival: Winning sculpture will be on display and available for sale;
all other sculptures will be displayed during the festival on Sat. May 7, 2016.
