Please Pray for Pippa’s Blood Counts and her Third Bone Marrow Biopsy on Monday! Thank you all for your prayers. They have sustained and encouraged us through this past month and we depend on them for daily strength and hope. As I mentioned in the last update, Pippa’s first round of chemotherapy was successful in killing all of the cancer cells in her bone marrow and now the next step is to wait for her body to produce healthy cells. The doctors tell us that in most cases, this would have happened already; however, with Pippa, we are still waiting and she is getting frustrated and discouraged. She desperately wants to be home for Hudson’s birthday on Wednesday and Thanksgiving on Thursday, and after one month in the hospital, she is going “stir crazy” and although her physical needs can still only be met in the hospital, emotionally, she needs to be home. Please pray for Pippa’s blood counts. If you pray in general, that would be great; if you would like to be specific, here are the numbers Pippa needs in order to come home for a while before starting the next phase of treatment. The most important one is the “ANC” number which is a subcategory of the white blood cell count and is related to the ability to fight infections. Also, she is scheduled to have her third bone marrow biopsy on Monday. Please pray that the pain is minimal during the procedure and that the results show that things are progressing in a positive direction. Another update will be coming as soon as we have a better idea of the actual time frame for outpatient chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. Thank you again!
