Date: September 16, 2010 To: Oklahoma City Zoological Trust From: Dwight Scott, Executive Director/CEO Re: Change Order #9 for Asia, Project #MZ-0044 Location: Oklahoma City Zoological Park Purpose: This change order covers the changes made from: P.R. #55 Provides below grade roof drain collection to storm sewer as requested by zoo staff following the bid. This should prevent erosion below the elephant barn and allow the vegetation to grow in quicker P.R .#56 Rev. #2. Installs a fire truck turnaround near the haybarn as requested by the fire marshall to obtain the occupancy permit. The fire truck turnaround around was not included in the bid set because during two meetings with the City prior to bidding, the fire marshall reviewed the plans and found no objections at the time. P.R. #56 is value engineered from a grass pave drive, to the concrete drive as shown. P.R. #58 Changes the elephant hot wire detail from a copper stanchion to fiberglass stanchions, and provides a third energizer requested by the staff following bidding to run each paddock independently. These changes are recommended by Gallagher the hot wire MFG, and results in a credit back to the zoo. P.R. #60 Reroutes fire protection piping out of the elephant community stall, where they would have been within reach. P.R. #62 Rev. Provides Elephant House roof flashing, gutters, downspouts and associated wood theme work furouts as requested by zoo staff following the bid. This should prevent erosion below and allow the vegetation to grow in more quickly. P.R. #67 Provides natural cut stone rock retaining walls at the switchback to prevent erosion and increase the ease of planting as requested by horticultural staff following the bid set. This proposal request is value engineered from rockwork retaining walls. P.R. #68 Roughs in PVC and EMT conduit for a future communications system. Was originally going to be owner provided, but considering work in the area was taking place, it makes sense to do it now. P.R. #70 Provides electrical service from the Thai Demonstration Pavilion to the electric gate operators on the northwest side of the museum. P.R. #71 Provides access doors in the utility rocks for the hose bibbs located in the elephant exhibit areas. The hose bibbs are inset into the rockwork, the access doors are for the vacuum breakers which are required by code. P.R. #72 runs gas piping to the emergency generator and split system furnace unit at the mezzanine office, which was left out of the bid set.
