For the 2015 World Day of Peace, Pope Francis challenges all of us to recognize every person as a brother or sister with God-given dignity through his message: “Slaves No More, But Brothers and Sisters.” Follow Pope Francis’ call to end human trafficking and slave labor. Go to CRS.org/you-did-it-for-me Ladies of St. Leo Guild, please let me know any phone number updates for the work list of St. Leo Ladies Guild. With the change of times some families no longer have land lines, or periodically change their cell phone numbers. It helps the Chairpersons to have the best contact information when calling people to work. Email me at dnldirk@yahoo.com or leave a message at our home phone 402-568-2241. Thank you very much! Happy New Year! Linda Dirkschneider, President of St. Leo’s Guild. (Anytime you change your phone number, please let the President of the Guild know.) Feast of the Holy Family “…as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must forgive.” - Colossians 3:13 Forgiveness – one of the hardest things for people to do. It’s amazing how long we can hold a grudge or be angry with someone. As we celebrate the feast of the Holy Family, take this opportunity to give the gift of forgiveness to someone - maybe someone in your family, maybe a friend, maybe a co-worker or neighbor or, maybe yourself. Pick up the phone or text someone right now. When Jesus is presented in the Temple, our Blessed Mother formally offers him to God’s service without reservation. It is a service that Simeon prophetically foretells: a service to God that will turn the old laws and cultural norms upside down. Are we destined to hold on to old habits and customs tightly, or like Jesus, are we willing to serve the Lord and proclaim the Gospel in new and creative ways? 241). VOCATIONS AWARENESS Families need blessings of patience, forgiveness, gratefulness and love. What will you do to show your love for your family? Ask for the grace to be holy. (Colossians 3:12-21). If you think God may be calling you to be a priest, call Fr. Paul Hoesing at 402-558-3100 or visit our website: www.archomaha.org/vocations. Worship God on Sunday, then walk with Him on Monday. “The bread which you do not use is the bread of the hungry; the garment hanging in your wardrobe is the garment of him who is naked; the shoes that you do not wear are the shoes of the one who is barefoot; the money that you keep locked away is the money of the poor; the acts of charity that you do not perform are so many injustices that you commit.” St. Basil the Great Feast Day -January 2 CALENDAR The food drive for Sister Lee Agnes and Sister Patricia continues through this weekend (December 27-28).
