2015 Reno County Corporate Cup
Horseshoes
Date: Friday, October 16th, 2015
Time: 6:00 pm
Location: Rice Park Horseshoe Pavilion
1. Each Team will consist of two participants – 1 male and 1 female.
2. The Throwing distance will be 40 feet for men and 30 feet for women. It is not
required for women to pitch against women and men against men. However, if a
woman is competing on the same end as a man, she must be to the rear of him
while he pitches as to not visually interfere.
3. Games will consist of 20 innings which is 40 shoes being thrown, 20 by each
competing male and female. Winners will be determined by the best two out of
three frames with a one hour time limit. In the case of a tie, one inning will be
pitched (all four competitors will throw two shoes) until the tie is broken. Should
the one hour time limit lapse, whoever is ahead will be declared the winner of
the game.
4. Scoring: Ringer + 3 points, within 6 inches or leaning + 1 point for each shoe.
Scoring will be the cancellation method. Individual or multiple ringers by both
teams will cancel each other out and no points are scored. If any or all four
shoes are within 6 inches, the team with the closest shoe or shoes shall be
awarded the point or points. A 6 inch ruler will be provided but if a decision
cannot be agreed upon, a tournament official will determine the awarding of
points.
5. Winners will be determined by a double elimination competition.
6. Horseshoes will be available, but teams can furnish their own.

Duathlon
2mile Bicycle Ride – 1 Mile Run

1. This event will consist of 4 participants. (2 male and 2 female).
2. Bicycle helmets must be worn by all bike riders.
3. A female and a male from each team will ride the bike portion of the event. A
female runner and a male runner from each team will each run a mile.
4. The bike event will be first starting just across the road from the East end of the
Carey Park Golf Course Parking lot.
5. The end of the bike ride and the transition point to the running event will be
behind Stremel Fields in Carey Park. When a bike rider finishes his or her
segment, they must dismount and give their teammate runner the chip timing
bracelet. Then the runner can start their leg of the race.
6. Runners will run a half mile North on the hike/bike trail then turn around and run
back to the finish line behind Stremel Field #2.
7. This event will be chip timed and we will be using a 45 second stagger between
competitors at the starting line. Participants must turn in anticipated times for
the 2-mile bicycle ride so teams can be started in order from fastest to slowest.
8. Bike Trail Rule – All riders must ride to the right side of the trail. If you are
passing someone, you must yell passing on the left as you approach the rider to
alert them that you are going to pass them. No blocking of the trail to keep from
being passed. Remember, you are racing against the clock, not the other riders.
9. Due to Rule #8, no head phones are allowed on the bike portion of the event.
Total of 2 females / 2 males, 1 female / 1 male will bike and 1 female / 1 male to run
Participants must sign in at the McQueen diamonds parking lot in Carey Park.
The staging area will be the East end of the Carey Park Golf Course Parking lot.

1. This event will consist of 4 participants. (2 male and 2 female).
2. Time predictions for each entrant must be submitted in writing by September
29th, at the team captain’s meeting.
3. No speedometers, watches, clocks or any other form of timing equipment of
another person pacing the walker is allowed. No time assistance from spectators
or team members will be allowed. Penalty will result in a 5 minute addition to
the walker’s time difference.
4. Walkers are not allowed to run or jog at any time during the event. Penalty will
result in a 5 minute addition to the walker’s time difference.
5. Officials will be located at various areas throughout the course monitoring the
use of unauthorized timing or pacing devices and ensuring that the course route
is followed.
6. Walkers must finish the course within 60 minute time limit. If a walker fails to
complete the course within the 60 minutes, 5 minutes will be added to the
walker’s time difference.
7. Walkers must stay on the paved surface and keep to the right.
8. Walkers are not allowed to use radios or wear headsets.
9. The event will be started and staged in flights. No teammates will be placed in
the same flight.
10. Assigned numbers must be worn on the front of the walker’s shirt.
11. Walkers must be sure to walk in their assigned flights.
Teams consist of 2 male and 2 female walkers.

Obstacle Course

1. This event will consist of 4 participants. (2 male and 2 female).
2. The actual event will remain a mystery until the start of the competition.
3. The event will be designed to be a fun-type event that can be done in a
football/running track, grass or basketball arena setting.
4. The event will be scored and won on a basis yet to be determined (i.e. time,
score, combination or both, or other).
Teams consist of 2 male and 2 female participants.

Tug of War

1. The team will consist of 6 males and 6 females alternately arranged. No weight
limit. Competing with less than 6 and 6 will be allowed if the full team roster is
unable to compete at the event time. If competing with less than 6 and 6, then
the team must either be less males than females (i.e. 5 males and 6 females) or
equal males and females (i.e. 5 males and 5 females). Teams of less than 5 and
5 will not be allowed for safety reasons.
2. Winners will be determined by single elimination competition.
3. The victor in each tug will be declared by a designated referee.
4. Participants are advised to wear gloves and long sleeve shirts for safety reasons.
5. No Cleats, spikes or other shoes designed to dig in the ground are permitted.
Hiking boots are allowed. Violators will not be allowed to change shoes at the
time of the pull, but may pull without shoes on.
6. Teams will be paired by the luck of the draw and follow a single elimination
format.
7. The rope will be approximately 1 ¼” in diameter and approximately 75 feet long
with a flag attached to the center.
8. Cones will be set up 5 feet on either side of the center line. The object is to pull
the opposing team so the flag crosses the plane of the cone of you side of the
center line.
9. There will be a one minute time limit.
10. A complete 360 degree wrap around the end person will not be allowed.
11. The anchor person is responsible for declaring the team ready.
Teams consist of 6 male and 6 female participants.

Co-ed Volleyball

1. A team consists of a maximum of 8 members.
2. There must be 3 male and 3 female participants on the court at all times.
3. Rally scoring will be used. Winners will be determined by the best 2 out of 3
games within a 45 minute time limit. The first 2 games of the match will be
played to 25 points. The third game of the match, if needed, will be played to
15 points. In the event the score is tied at the end of regulation play, the first
team ahead by 2 will be declared the winner.
4. Teams will be allowed 2 time outs per game. Time outs taken during the last 2
minutes of a match will extend the match by the length of the time out. There
will be no time limits in the championship final, frames will be played to the
designated number of points for the game or the first team ahead by two points
thereafter.
5. Standard Co-ed Volleyball rules are in effect.
6. Winners will be determined by a double elimination competition.
7. Net heights will be as close to 8 feet as possible at all sites.
8. Game balls will be furnished. Teams must furnish their own practice balls.
9. Game time is forfeit time! In the event a team is not prepared to play at the
scheduled time, that team shall forfeit the first game of the match. If that team
is not prepared to play 15 minutes after the scheduled start time of the match,
that team shall lose the match.
10. All referee’s decisions are final.
Teams consist of 4 male and 4 female participants.
3 female and 3 male participants must be on the court at all times.

Golf Skills Challenge
Date: Oct. 17th, 2015
Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm
Location: Carey Park Golf Course Driving Range
1. Teams will consist of 2 male and 2 female participants, and each team member must
compete in at least one of the Golf skill challenges.
2. Each team will participate in three golf skill challenges, Driving, Chipping & Putting.
3. The Driving challenge will consist of:
a. Each team will hit two rounds of 3 golf balls each.
b. A round ends when each team has hit their 6 golf balls.
c. Once the first round is completed, the second round of competition will begin in
the order that the first round hit.
d. Distance will be measured from the tee line to the farthest point of the golf ball.
The golf ball must land and remain in the designated landing area to be counted.
e. All clubs must conform to USGA standards.
f. All golf clubs must not exceed the LDA50” total length rule.
g. All competitors will hit Carey Park Golf Course Range Balls.
h. Winners will be determined by combining longest drive of the male and female
team members.
4. The Chipping Challenge will consist of:
a. Each team will hit two rounds of 3 golf balls each.
b. A round ends when each team has hit their 6 golf balls.
c. Once the first round is completed, the second round of competition will begin in
the order that the first round hit.
d. Teams will be awarded points for chipping their golf balls into designated
buckets.
e. The winner will be awarded to the team accumulating the most points.
5. The Putting Challenge will consist of:
a. Each team will putt two rounds of 3 golf balls each.
b. A bullseye target will surround a golf hole with designated point value depending
on the distance from the hole.
c. Teams will be awarded points, determined by the distance they are from each
hole, after each round.
d. The winner will be awarded to the team accumulating the most points.

Bowling
Date: Oct. 17, 2015
Time: 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Location: The Alley of Hutchinson
1. Teams will consist of 5 bowlers, either 2 male and 3 female, or 3 male and 2
female.
2. We will follow the standard American Ten Pin Rules.
3. Each team will bowl 3 games, scratch score.
4. Winners will be determined by the total scores accumulated during all three
games.
5. If, in the event of a tie, teams will bowl an extra frame each, until the tie is
broken.
