Some of you know Leslee as a stained glass artist, since she worked here and taught here in the past. She is currently teaching college level art and drawing classes, and has taught at the Art Museum on and off for many years. Taking a short class like this will expose you to a few concepts that will allow you see the "line" better, and also help you break complex objects down into simple shapes. These are skills that will improve your creativity in the glass arts. We are very excited to expand our curriculum with a talented teacher like Leslee, who has a way of making everyone successful. We P i e ces" $75.00 will have all the paper supplies and pencils here so no need to purchase anything ahead of time. This class will be FUN, and is open to all skill levels. We will take a short break from sketching in the middle so we can relax and enjoy each others company. Limit 10 students. Sat March 8th, 11 - 3:30 Saturday April, 5th 11 - 3:30 Intermediate COLOR FANTASY $70 Grow your skills creating this beautiful fused tree from all those mini pieces of fusible glass that we have at the bottom of our class bin. We will provide all the materials, help you make a sample pattern, and guide you thru the process. We will fire your 10 " round project. (Stand not included.) Once again we had a big response for this class. Anyone can do it, so don't hesitate! Thursday Feb 6th, @ 6 pm Tuesday March 18th @ 6pm Just for Fun SPACING OUT $75.00 This class is perfect for all you recyclers! We use our leftover transparent to create a three layer piece of art that won't hold water! Choose a 10" square or round mold! Let us show you how to create the lacy effect. We had so many people admire Melissa's creations that we had to turn it into a class. All transparent Glass and first firing included. Saturday Feb 15th @ 11:00 Slump firing $25 if desired. Melissa worked hard to put together a grouping of "test Pallets" using GlassLine pigments to create fantasy colors on glass. If you have seen them on the table you know how beautiful they are. As a fuser, this will add a new dimension to your glass coloring skills. And don't freak out! We won't be using a brush to apply your color! You will do two 5" tile color studies, one on black and one on white. And while we are at it you will learn a few other secrets of the trade. All supplies included. Saturday Feb 1st @ 12:30 Just for Fun Window DeLites! $45.00 (extras for $35) These 3" x 12" window ornaments will "de-lite" you all year long. We made an example for each season, but you may do whatever style you want. Instruction, clear base glass, use of our class bin glass, and firing included. If you have time and want to make more than one, each extra is $35.00. Glass cutting skills desirable but not required. Pre-cuts available for purchase! Tuesday Feb 4, 6pm Tuesday, March 4, 6pm LETS GET EDGY! $95.00 Intermediate, some cutting required In this class you will create an 8 1/2" sculptural artwork that is stunningly beautiful. The light shimmers on the uneven pieces on top and creates a magical effect. We will provide all the transparent glass, the glass rods, and the first flat firing. This project will take you about 4 hours to build, so we suggest you take a break for lunch! We will provide a syllabus with our firing schedules so you can get even more creative at your own studio, if you desire. Sat Feb 22nd @ 10:30 Sat March 22nd @ 10:30 Slump firing $25 extra Beginner Introduction to Fusing - Fused Pendant $95.00 This is one our most popular beginning classes! Formal instruction and all materials are included in this professional introduction to glass fusing.! We open with a 45 minute lecture with "show and tell" about the basic concepts of glass fusion theory. Then, you will create 10 glass cabochons that you may make into pendants or magnets. Prism will fire your pieces and they will be available for pick up a few days later. Basic bails are included. No experience required. Glass Cutting 101 is recommended, but not required. (Private party arrangements and accommodations for larger groups available!) Tuesday Feb 11th @ 6pm Saturday March 15th @ 1:00 Beginner GLASS CUTTING 101 $45 This is where it all starts! Glass cutting is the basic skill that is required for most glass media projects. During this skills class you will learn the theory of glass cutting including tools, safety, pattern cutting, and grinding. Whether you are doing stained glass, mosaics, or plan on fusing, classes are geared towards the needs of the students. By the end, you will have cut straight pieces, circles, and everything in between. You will have use of our tools during class. No experience necessary. Tuesday Feb 18th, 6 pm Saturday March 15 @ 10:30 Intermediate Stained Glass Saturday 12:50 per hour We will make our tables available for all you new stained glassers that want to work on a small project. Come in with a project that is 11 x 17 or smaller and work side by side with Sharon, Melissa and your peers. If you have recently started to work in stained glass and you want to join a community of like minded addicts, this day is for you. Lets have FUN together. Saturday Feb. 8th 10:30 to 3:30 Just for Fun BIRCH TREE, FUSED PANEL $85.00 Create a 8 x 12" birch tree scene on a dark background and watch the magic happen. You can choose the season just by switching up the colors of the falling leaves. You will learn a couple techniques for coloring the trunks and the background to acquire the illusion of depth. These panels are not quite full fused so as to keep their texture! They may displayed on a table or plate stand. All materials and one firing included. We will have fun! Saturday March 1st @ 11:00 Intermediate BIRDS OF A FEATHER $65.00 Join your fusing friends by flocking to Prism Glass for this Fun Fusing Event. We will Make 3 cute birdies, each with a personality that will tickle you! These birdies are free standing on wire legs, and are suitable for flower pots and decorating that special room. Firing and all Materials included. Tuesday March 11th @ 6:00 BEGINNING STAINED GLASS $130.00 8 X 10 Orientation PROJECT In this 3 week session you will learn to cut, foil, grind, solder and frame a stained glass panel. Although the project is small, it will work you thru each step of the entire process, and most students will continue developing skills in their own home studio. You will choose from one of 8 patterns for your first experience. We will provide all the tools, instruction, and clear glass you need to complete your first project. You may purchase colors separately. Choose a pattern and your glass prior to the class. $25 deposit to secure your space. Four Students, Three weekly sessions. Aprox 3.5 hrs per session. Be prepared to commit to three consecutive weeks.
