Integrated Case Management System (ICMS) Maintenance 2 The replacement of the Maintenance Case Registration/Administrative functions of Maintenance matter which is currently part of JDAS System – Administrative Functions Integrated Case Management System (ICMS) Criminal (Lower Courts) 4 Pilot Sites – Deployed to 1 in each Region by end of Financial Year. The roll out to all other courts countrywide is scheduled for next Financial Year 4 Currently All Lower Courts Countrywide 478 Sites All Regional Court and Regional Circuit Sites – Approximately 100. Approx. 100 sites The ICMS Criminal allows for the registration of criminal cases within the lower courts. The system allows for the captures of case and party detail as well as sentences and outcomes. The system also makes provision for the electronic scanning of case dockets and case files which can be digitally stored and retrieved. It also allows for the tracking of a case through the case lifecycle. 3 The Analysis and Design of the system to facilitate the integration with the ECMS (NPA) is scheduled to be completed by end of financial year. The system also makes provision for the electronic scanning of case dockets and case files which can be digitally stored and retrieved. It also allows for the tracking of a case through the case lifecycle The analysis and design of Phase 2 of ICMS Civil (Lower Courts) is planned to be completed by end of financial year. Integrated Case Management System (ICMS) Civil (High Courts) 6 ICMS Civil (High Courts) allows for the registration of civil cases within the high courts. The system Available to all High Courts Only 2 of the High Courts utilize the system. allows for the capture of case and party detail as well as outcomes. The system also makes provision for the electronic scanning of case files which can be digitally stored and retrieved. It also allows for the tracking of a case through the case lifecycle Integrated Case Management System (ICMS) Small Claims Courts 7 Deployed to all Proclaimed Small Claims Courts Approx. 280 Sites Available to Country Wide All Courts Only about 170 courts(average) utilize the system. The re-training programme to improve utilization is in progress which should improve the utilization. Available to Country Wide All Courts An investigation into the ‘under utilization’ of the system has revealed that users required further training on the system. We have to date re-trained identified Trainers in the ICMS Small Claims allows for the registration of small claim court cases within the lower courts. It also allows for the tracking of a case through the case lifecycle Integrated Case Management System (ICMS) National Register for Sexual Offenders This system has been developed as per the Sexual Offences Act and forms part of the ICMS Criminal system which tracks and updates charges against sex offenders as sentenced by the criminal courts. These offenders are then placed on a register by the national registrar for the verification and issue of certificates which is catered for under Phase 1 of the solution 8 The analysis and design for Phase 2 of NSRO is scheduled to be completed by end of Financial Year. The system allows for the capture following Regions: Eastern Cape Free State Gauteng Limpopo Northern Cape of case and party detail as well as outcomes. System is being utilized by 28 sites in 5 regions. JMIS as a dashboard reflects detailed information to business such as daily, monthly and annual trends, statistical analysis and a national overview on volumes and values down to court and case level.
