FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BEAR CREEK ACADEMY CHARITY DINNER WITH THE TITANS
Come meet the Tennessee Titans and support a great cause
Franklin, TN, November 14, 2014– Bear Creek Academy invites Tennessee Titans fans to come have
dinner and help provide exam testing for our student athletes at the Historic Franklin Theater on
December 1, 2014. Coach Ken Whisenhunt, Michael Oher (of the movie Blindside), Jake Locker and
Dexter McCluster will be signing autographs and sharing a meal with each person.
“Each year our school depends on this event to help fund necessary preparatory
exams for our students. This is the largest event of our year”, says Athletic Director
Robert A. Smith. “Bear Creek Academy is so lucky to have the support of the
Tennessee Titans and dinner attendees.”
The famous Monell’s restaurant will be catering the buffet style dinner. They will be serving fried
chicken, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, cornbread and their world famous banana pudding.
A raffle will be held at the conclusion of the dinner for gifts such as autographed memorabilia, one-onone lunch with a Titan player, autographed guitar by Vince Gill and a Suite package at LP Field for the
Titans-Broncos game on December 26, 2014.
Bear Creek Academy needs to raise at least $15,000 to offset the cost of these exams. These
preparatory exams are crucial to preparing student athletes for college. Please come support
a great cause and meet your Tennessee Titans at the Historic Franklin Theater on December 1,
2014. Dinner will be served at 7pm. Arrive early to secure your seat. For more information
please contact Danielle Smith at 615-830-4210 or email at dsmith@bearcreek.com.

Section V. Describe what you learned while completing this assignment.
Of all the assignments this was by far the toughest. It is really amazing how much work
goes into one little press release. It was tough coming up with a hook to draw people in and a
stinger to help them keep reading. The video commercial was the toughest part of the
assignment by far. It is surreal to see how much detail goes into a thirty second commercial spot.
Every part of the commercial has to be planned out to the second. The print ad was probably the
easiest because print ads are seen in newspapers regularly. Over all this assignment was
informative and interesting. It was interesting to see how precise things have to be and how
creative the organizer has to be. Without a great hook and stinger it is impossible to get people
to support the cause.
