The Sharjah and Ajman Tour from Dubai gives you a fascinating look at two of the emirates of the UAE. The adventure begins when you are picked up in the morning at your hotel by an airconditioned Van / Coach. Sharjah is the cultural metropolis of the UAE and the third largest state. One of its most popular attractions is Al Naboodah House Museum, the beautifully restored home of a wealthy pearl merchant (now known as the Sharjah Heritage Museum). Built in 1845, the two-story house is made of coral – the perfect material for the hot climate of Sharjah. Visitors are fascinated by the carefully designed ventilation system that keeps the house cool. The Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization displays handwritten Korans, letters from the Prophet Muhammad to other leaders, artifacts from Mecca and Arab handicrafts. Al Buheirah Corniche is a panoramic and picturesque waterfront famous for its water fountain, cafés and coffee shops. The ever popular Central Souk (Blue Souk) – six spectacular buildings adorned with blue tiling – has around 600 shops and is a vibrant example of a typical shopping experience. Another famous landmark you’ll see is the King Faisal Mosque, the largest mosque in Sharjah. It opened in 1987 and has space for 15,000 worshippers. There are separate prayer rooms for men and women and the mosque has an Islamic library with more than 7,000 books. (Admission is for Muslims only.) The mosque was built to honor King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, who was responsible for financing the development of Sharjah before the discovery of oil. You’ll then proceed to Ajman, the smallest of all the emirates. One of its main attractions is the long expanse of powdery white sandy beach, situated along the Persian Gulf Coast, stretching for almost 20 miles. You’ll visit Ajman Museum, housed in an 18th century fort located in the heart of the city. Here you can examine the area’s history in more depth. Tourists visiting the museum are privy to old manuscripts, odes to traditional daily life in Ajman, ancient artifacts and old weapons.
